THE FRENCH PROVIDORE HAMPTON — Restaurant in Melbourne

Went in Thursday evening for an oat cappuccino, coffee was luke warm, barely any foam and tasting like soap. Got my refund and a new coffee, still warm, still no froth and barely an excuse from the owner. To make sure it wasn't a mistake, I ordered a magic, wait to hear about it. The thing is, I'm french. As I walk away I hear him insult me, saying I'm just a prick, that I'm driving him crazy. Came back about half an hour later with a friend for a crepe, which was excellent though. My friend's mocha was bitter as ever, pretty much like my cap and the magic. When I told the owner/barista that the magic wasn't acid at all, and the shots were way over-run, it's with the confidence when he said "there's no acidity in coffee" that sold it. If you enjoy crepes, they're amazing, if you're looking for coffee, stop looking for coffee. PLEASE NOTE : I did get a refund for my coffees, but the attitude was unacceptable. Firstly, I do not write reviews, however I am compelled to do so today as I’ve just I had the pleasure of trying the Croque Monsieur at The French Providore Hampton, and it was an absolute delight! From the first bite to the last, this classic French sandwich exceeded all expectations. The combination of the rich, creamy béchamel sauce, mustard, savory ham and melted cheese created a harmonious symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. The attention to detail in the preparation was evident, as every ingredient was of the highest quality. The portion size was generous, leaving me feeling completely satisfied. The service was great, with friendly and attentive staff who made the experience even more enjoyable. French Providore sells a wide range of imported French treats, perfect for all the Francophiles in Hampton. Has some nice seating inside and an interesting range of sweet and savoury vegetarian items for sale inside. 26.5.23 called in to have nice soy latte and get takeaway raspberry danish for husband. Note board outside says free food tasting so I asked and was told Foie Gras. Fois Gras! I'm a vegetarian, so that's 'non' from me. 25.10 here for brunch and I had vegetarian galette (without egg) which was delicious!
