A Mostly Enjoyable Thai Dining Experience

I recently visited this cozy Thai restaurant on Thomas St for dinner with a friend. We were promptly seated and started with an order of prawn crackers that were crispy.

For our main entrees, my friend got the honey chicken which was unfortunately a bit bland and lacking in flavor. I ordered the scallops in a red curry sauce that was phenomenal - the scallops were perfectly cooked and the creamy, spicy curry was complex and delicious. We also split an order of Chinese pork with broccoli which was quite tasty.

The restaurant filled up quickly as the night went on, creating a lively ambiance. Despite the growing crowds, the food came out fast and was nicely presented. The portions were adequate, providing enough to fill up without being overwhelming.

The service was attentive, with our server politely checking on us and refreshing our waters. The prices were reasonable.

Overall, it was a positive dining experience, with a few minor misses but mostly excellent Thai fare. The scallops in particular were a standout that I would eagerly order again. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone craving flavorful, authentic Thai cuisine in a charming atmosphere. A very solid 4...

I officially have a new favourite Thai restaurant. Not only was the food delish, but the service was excellent and the whole experience was great. The pricing is pretty reasonable, and I can't think of a single negative. We came here with friends, so I was a bit nervous that like most Thai restaurants, the food would all come out at various times and people would end up waiting etc, but thankfully that wasn't the case. Everything came out promptly, correctly and everything that anyone ordered was delicious and so flavourful. We asked for a few substitutions here and there and they were spot on. Consistently the best Thai food I've had since travelling to Thailand! Moved to the CBD 8 months ago and despite trying numerous places, Suwan is still so good we drove down for a Sunday dinner that had us literally struggling to stifle our moans. So delicious! Proper green curry with everything you want, nothing wild and perfect heat and consistency. Crispy pork with Chinese broccoli is simply marvellous, and the satay chicken skewers are a lovely opening act. We will keep coming back...
