I will start with the only positive about our experience eating lunch today -- the waitresses. Hayley and Sanzu. They were terrific. Friendly, kind, sweet and helpful. I would recommend going here ONLY to see them.
Thank you ladies for making our time here enjoyable. :)
Now, as for the food. It was less than ordinary. For the prices charged, we expected tasty, fresh and enjoyable food that would have us coming back. That wasn't the case.
I even asked 2 pairs of people who had finished eating if they liked their food and the 4 of them said they did. I'm surprised.
I ordered a Chicken Parma. It comes with chips and a side salad. The plate is ridiculously huge. It doesn't need to be because although the chicken looks really big, it's quite thin so it's really not as substantial as you'd assume. Also, when it arrived, it was nearly cold and so were the chips. I don't know how that works considering they weren't busy and both meals came out together.
I informed Hayley and she took it away to get a fresh one made. Sanzu brought the second attempt and it was hot, as it should be. However, it was quite tasteless. Where is the salt?? The chips are advertised as being seasoned but they were flavourless too.
My dining partner ordered the Atlantic Salmon with mashed potatoes, cherry tomatoes, capers, broccolini and something else I don't remember. The only thing on the plate that wasn't cold was the salmon. However, it was very overcooked. In fact, the skin was so cooked it was nearly charred.
So overall, the food was not worth even close to what the prices are.
I didn't make a big song and dance about it and the lovely Sanzu made numerous apologies because she was genuinely sorry we didn't enjoy our food. She is so very sweet.
We ended up getting half of our bill taken off (I did not ask for any type of discount, btw) but that isn't the way to do business. Thank you to management for doing so, but better yet, make sure your chefs/cooks know how to time food so one plate is not sitting there getting cold waiting for the other dish(es) to be completed before serving.
Again, I want to reiterate that Hayley and Sanzu are fantastic! Thank you ladies, you are two of the greats in this...
Read moreI've been here on a few occasions and it has been alright and so I thought I would go back with my family today. Today was terrible. The table we were sitting at was dirty to begin with. I wiped it over (surprised by the filth) and we proceeded to order. After a long wait our two kids meals came out. We ordered the pancakes and they were quite a good size, so all was fine there. Kids took their time and ate as much as they could but then came an even longer wait. I think we were forgotten as the man in charge came over, making a point of saying that it was good they brought the kids meals out, ours were coming. An even longer wait ensued...Another waitress (noticing the unsettled kids I think) made a point of mentioning that she wasn't sure why the table of 8 downstairs were getting their meals before us? (not helpful and solidified that we were indeed forgotten). Husbands meal finally came out- crispy chicken burger. Would have been nice to have a toasted bun as the bread wasn't nice. He thought his was ok. Hubby had nearly finished his meal and they then decided to bring out my lamb souvlaki. 'How are the meals?' the man asked (not sure, I've waited ages and its literally just arrived I was thinking?!:/) The meal wasn't alright- chips were overdone and the souvlaki wasn't nice- lamb was chewy, tomatoes had a funny flavour and bread had an unpleasant flavour also. The man came back to clear the plates and asked how the meals were ( only half of one half of the souvlaki was eaten). I informed him that it wasn't nice at all and gave him my reasons why- 'would you like a container to take that half home'. I reiterated that it really wasn't nice, so no, I didn't want to take it home. He just walked away! Why ask if you dont care about the response?! As a side note the water jug stoppers looked like they hadn't been wiped over in years and aesthetically (I know I am getting picky here) we had 2 knives and 4 forks brought to us- the 2 knives matched but all 4 forks were very different- 1 entree, 3 main, 1 patterned, one square tipped. Not the best look. Definitely wont be...
