Where do I start.

Arrived to this restaurant got ignored at the door. So my wife and I walked to counter asked for a table for two. Lady at the front said “sorry we are fully booked we only have the high chair bench or outside in the cold”. We happily agreed I could see it was busy so I asked for a menu before I sat, the waitress said “well bring it out to you” after sitting down 15 minutes and seeing 3 people come in and be seated and be given menus we hail a waiter down and tell him we have been here for 15 minutes and have not got any menus. The waiter Min was absolutely lovely apologised and really tried to make it up with his service (initially). As the food arrived we dug into it. I must say the food was some of the best Japanese food I have ever had. We ordered 2 entrees and 3 mains. After 10 min received 2 entrees and 5 minutes after that one main. We finished this and sat waiting for our final two mains in this time we saw several people receive meals including a table for 6 we even saw a lady come in order receive entrees, her main finish’s and leave….. After around 40 minutes of waiting we the waiter was cleaning tables around us and realised we had not recieved all our food (did not apologise or say anything just “the next dish is coming out soon” as if we are idiots and we didn’t realise its been 40 minutes). 5 minutes after this the final two. Absolutely delicious. Idk why we were treated this way honestly we just wanted to have a nice Japanese meal and if I’m being honest it was delicious but the service really upset me. My wife and I felt very unwelcome. During this whole ordeal there was actually a vacant two seater table inside which I took a photo of 45 minutes after we sat outside in the cold. So I don’t understand why the waitress told us there was no...

This restaurant is disappointing. I expected much more based on the pictures and some of the reviews, but unfortunately the food is mediocre at best. Me and my partner had different sushi rolls and the salmon was tasteless with the ingredients feel cheap and not fresh. The acoustics is terrible and people need more space between the tables to feel cosy. I almost slipped on the floor on the way to the toilet as you need to go through the staff area where the floor is slippery. On the good side is that the waiters are friendly and the prices are reasonable but I felt like eating in Sushi hub style (which they use fresh ingredients) rather than a high end restaurant. The presentation is really good, but when you eat the dishes they are not that great, unfortunately. I eat a lot Japanese food outside so this is based on my experience. Japanese food needs to be really fresh with quality ingredients to...

Simple Japanese themed decor. Staff were friendly enough, but do not expect silverservice as this is a suburban restaurant/bistro - staff could be a little more attentive, friendly, etc. Service is ok but nothing special.

Food is simply fantastic. So much better than some of the (more expensive) offerings down Glenferrie Rd.

We had pork tonkatsu (fantastic fulsome broth, generous pork portion), smash Buri (an unusual disassembled nori roll option that has the best flavoured rice we’ve ever had - seriously! We’re not being effusive.) and sashimi sushi platter (generous number of portions and very fresh fish).

Could not have asked for better food. It has replaced our previous favourite down Glenferrie Rd - which had changed hands and gone down hill. We definitely will be back again...

We entered just before the lunch time rush and had our choice of seats. The extensive menu offered many temptations but we both wanted the Chirashi Don. This turned out to be a great choice. Fresh slices of three different sashimi with a light salad and goma dressing rested on a bed of rice. The result was a wholesome and deliciously satisfying meal. We both loved it from the first bite to the last. There's a note on the board that "ninjas eat for free" but they must be in full ninja uniform. We wondered if anyone's ever done that... 😄 Touches of Japanese culture is evident throughout the functional space. Efficient and polite staff made the quick visit a very pleasant experience. If you live locally, it's definitely worth checking out.

Lovely experience. Good customer service and overall a very pleasant atmosphere. Not a large place, but cute and special nevertheless. Food was very tasty, fresh, and wonderfully well presented. The Quality of the food is what stood out with some subtle and unique flavour combinations. However, some of our main dishes looked a little small portion-wise with a higher price tag than what was expected. Overall, well recommended.
