Response to owner's response - You are continuing to give false information. One of your entrances has 2 steps and the other on the side has 1 large step and neither are accessible by wheelchair. Your response indicates that you have no idea about wheelchair accessibility. It is not 'easy' to lift a person in a wheelchair over a step that size and even if it is possible (which it wasn't), it is actually a very serious safety hazard to do so. If you are serious about having an entrance with wheelchair access, please engage with an OT or consultant that can advise you on what is required. A ramp without the knowledge of what the safe incline needs to be is still a safety hazard so please if you are serious about getting a ramp, get the right advice first.
In the meantime please stop providing false information and wasting people's time as mine and my family's was last night. Your premises are not wheelchair accessible. People in wheelchairs have enough challenges to deal with without having to deal with businesses not being honest.
Made a booking and we specifically asked if the restaurant was wheelchair accessible. Was given an enthusiastic ‘yes’ so made the reservation. Turned up to the restaurant to find no wheelchair accessible entrance so couldn’t even enter the premises. My partner went in and asked staff about a way in but was told there isn’t one Not even an apology, just an excuse that perhaps the person who took the booking didn’t know any better. Absolutely disgraceful on the part of restaurant management and a waste of my and my family’s’ time. This place gets a big...
Read moreWe were there for dinner with a couple of friends on Friday night.
The staff behind the bar were helpful despite short of staff they did their best for their customer. Well done!
I had the chilli seafood linguine. Disappointingly, it was a small-portioned main (compared to what I normally get in other restaurants for the similar price point).
The linguine was bland and a bit overcooked. The menu stated that it contains prawns, clamps, mussels and scallops. However, no prawns and scallops were sighted. I have pointed it out to the waiting staff and without feeling apologetic, the reply was 'I will inform the kitchen'. We didn't have desserts (although they sound delicious) for the obvious reason.
We left the restaurant, still feeling hungry. So the four of us drove to a nearby pub, had more food and desserts.
I would not recommend this place nor will I return. I am happy to chat with the owner, if they like (pls provide contact details)....but our dining experience was ruined by the over-priced food with under-delivered quality. It's ashamed as it used to be good, especially their chicken parma during the...
Read moreWe decided to try The Toorak Hotel after its reopening. I ordered the mushroom risotto which came to the table barely warm & it would appear it was sitting under warming lights for a considerable amount of time. There wasn't any fluid left & whatever there had been was dried up as you could see the original line above the edge of the risotto. It looked very unappealing having flattened to the bottom of the bowl to a depth of an inch at best & to top it off, it didn't have a lot of flavour. I couldn't identify what was on top as it had dried out completely. My meal & another came out, then the other two meals came out about 5 minutes later. By this stage my risotto had softened & was no longer Al dente, just soggy. The other meals looked okay, service was friendly & atmosphere was nice. I assume this was just teething problems with the reopening but I did expect a little more from this group. I'm not sure why they asked on booking if we were celebrating, as it was my friends birthday & it wasn't acknowledged. For vegetarians there was...
