I really like the pool and the facilities. I had to close my business down last year and became very depressed for 8 months, I didn’t want to leave my room. Finally I went to the doctor who told me I had a severe vitamin D deficiency. He told me to get as much sunshine as possible. I told him that I had closed my business and didn’t have money for the pool. He suggested that I go to Centerlink and explain to them that I had lost my business. I hadn’t thought of doing that. I went to Centerlink and they were very helpful and helped me to fill out all the forms. They arranged an appointment with someone from Canberra and I spoke with that person and they said everything was fine and normally I would be receiving benefits from that time, but because I had my own business, it would need to be reviewed by the accounts department first. They told me to expect a call from them soon. That was over 2 months ago. There have been many hot sunny days and kind staff listened to my explanation and they were helpful to me. I was able to take in the sun, and I feel much better now. Another staff member told me to ask Centerlink again, and I went there and waited for an hour and they just said that there is nothing they can do, I just have to wait. It’s already near mid March… at this rate I’m going to be get it in winter, when it’s too late to catch any sun. I just wanted to say thank you to all of the kind people who have listened and understood my situation. Unfortunately today, there was someone called Caroline who was a nasty and unkind person, who lacks compassion, in my opinion. I hope that she learns how it feels being depressed and wanting to go to the swimming pool and not being able...
Read moreI really enjoy this pool as it is heated and the staff are very lovely. However, as a bit of constructive feedback, I had an early morning swim session where it is meant to be 40 minutes maximum due to COVID 19 but I accidentally thought it was 45 minutes. I finished my swim at 42 minutes and the lifeguard absolutely blasted and humiliated me for going overtime in front of the whole swimmers who were going to have there swim session at 6 am. However, there was still another swimmer from the same session as me still in the pool but he didn't even get a stern talking too which is very inconsistent. I sincerely apologised for making this timing error as I understand that there is a strict schedule but I didn't really appreciate the way I was treated as it was very...
Read moreGorgeous 50m heated outdoor pool, arranged in lanes for swimming (slow/medium/fast). The two outer lanes are "multi use" for just standing, splashing and playing about. Lots of grass to sit on and some sunloungers on the upstairs deck as well as the large tiered seating area. There is another smaller shallower pool for youngsters which is beneath a canopy and surrounded by a safety railing. The cafe is good, a few savoury options as well as great coffee, a couple of cookies/cakes to choose from and of course -wrapped ice creams. All at a fairly reasonable price ($3.50 coffee). The cafe is not always open. The only reason it's only a 4* from me is that there ought to be more loungers and the changing rooms could do with updating as they were quite tired....
