Wendy’s Bakery — Restaurant in Melbourne

Lacking in customer service but the food was absolutely delicious and prepared super quickly. So, let’s break it down…

Atmosphere: ** The store is clean, bright and presentable. This is definitely a take away place which has large display cases full of a rich variety of different foods both hot and cold. The centre area is larger space to allow for numerous people and you can tell that the owners really take pride in the cleanliness and presentation of their store. Well Done.

Customer Service: * The preparation was very efficient and timely with two representatives working in unison to increase the speed – and it was impressive to watch. However; the customer service was short and somewhat disgruntled. Honestly felt like my order was a nuisance more than a welcome custom. I wouldn’t look for a smile or a warm welcome with some of the representatives who work here. Better service would have lifted this ranking to 5.

Food (Why we are here): * Order: Roast Pork - Banh Mi - $10.00 The food was delicious! The patte, fresh ingredients including the chilli, a lot of roasted pork meat & (of course) an amazingly large and fresh bread roll. It almost makes it worth not receiving good customer service. It’s a great size, great mix of flavours and large enough to satisfy a lunch time hunger.

Overall:** If the customer service improved, you would probably find this place even busier than it already is (especially around lunch time). It did let down their overall rating but the food was excellent and certainly made me curious about trying their other baked goods on offer. Thank you,...

I am a long serving customer here, but just recently they have a new staff member who they have employed who is a bit older lady & she is argumentative & rude as she talk on the top of her voice which is not excepted by me & I understand a little bit of what she was saying when i visited the bakery today & she was rude today & last week & today this lady convinced another lady who always served me with respect to charge me extra in what I always get & she never charged me extra & it’s not the $1 extra but it’s the rudeness as they thought I did not know what they were saying & under estimated my knowledge of the language! Next time I will pay $2 extra and walk away but only if this lady is not working.

Wendy I love your Vietnamese rolls & I will try coming back but if I see that lady I will walk away as I can’t handle rudeness! But overall you your rolls are yummy but this lady don’t understand how to be hospitable in The hospitality industry. I can’t say I will never be back but if I see her I will definitely walk away & sorry about the 2 stars as that’s done for this lady’s rudeness but your rolls are 5...

Edited: Came back and unfortunately wasn’t impressed with the banh mi. Not sure why this time it didn’t taste as good, bread didnt taste that fresh and there was hardly any cracklings. Now not sure if will come back again.

Heard good things about this place. I find the lady was not very friendly when serving, although she was friendly to other customers that are probably regulars. I like their roast pork banh mi, had good taste and good amount of crackles. My husband preferred if the buns are crispy and toasted but I dont mind it...
