went here for brunch with the wife. i dont like paying for things i can already cook, and certainly not paying for someone to toast some bread and boil an egg, so i ordered 'fried calamari salad' and the wife ordered 'beef burger' for something different. -calamari salad- i was expecting some nice crispy calamari, a mix of juicy body and crispy tentacles, sitting on a bed of asian dressed salad. Reality is a mix of little bits of chewy squid which are obviously from a frozen bag and reheated (it was like hunt the squid in a sea of green). The salad was limp and over dressed (which i believe also made the 'crispy' fried calamari go soft. Quite the disappointment. 1/5 -beef burger- presented nice and big, looks good. Is average. bun was a bit dry and floury, beef was ok but i think it was a wagu or something special so i expect it to be at least average (which is was), the chips were however half decent but a bit too salty. 1/5
the coffee was ok to, in fact the best bit of this 'meal'. 3/5
maybe order the eggs and the toast, maybe you might be lucky and it is nice. otherwise nope from me. waste of money and calories (the later not so much of a big deal cos their wasnt much squid to fill me up and i left most of the salad cos it was way to vinegary) , could have had an indian down the road. no idea how its got 4.5 from 121 reviews? maybe i just dont like brunch...
Read moreThis cafe in Glen Huntley has one thing down pat: fantastic coffee, consistently. It's the go-to spot for a reliably good cup of joe in the area and a good book, winning the title for the best brews around. I've tried other cafes nearby, but none match up to the quality here.
However, the food menu falls short. It lacks coherence and the prices aren't always up to date, leading to some confusion. But fear not, there are still gems to be found. The halloumi bread is a standout, and choices like the smoked salmon bagel and smashed avocado seem popular.
Keep an eye out for the specials—they can be hit or miss depending on your luck. But steer clear of the porridge, granola, and pastries; they often lack freshness, understandable given the cafe's small business status.
In summary, if you're after top-notch coffee, this cafe is the place to be. Just be selective with your food choices, and you'll leave satisfied with your...
Read moreWe've been coming here since the first owners. It was our go to's for latte in the morning. The Huntly blend roasted by the original Workshop Brothers is our favorite. When they sold it to a new owner. The quality and friendliness are well maintained. Duong and his staff makes really good coffee and makes us feel at home despite being the new owners to the cafe. When the cafe changes hand for the 3rd time, coffee became a hit and miss. We ride it out for 2 weeks hoping that it will go back to how it was and safe to say we miss the old owners and the quality that they bring to this cafe. With the third owner and team some days the coffee are too acidic and ocassionally they make it right. Hopefully they will pay more attention to the...
