Caulfield Racecourse Reserve — Attraction in Melbourne

Be VERY careful taking your dogs here. Although it is a great place for a walk with lots of space, it also attracts all the uncontrollable dogs. Within 3 visits, both my dogs had altercations with untrained, aggressive dogs. My spoodle was attacked by 2 off-leash, uncontrollable rottweilers and was left with puncture wounds. The owner did not apologise but said "that's just how they play". My kelpie puppy was also chased away by 2 uncontrollable bully breed dogs, with complete disregard...

Still lovely, but sadly the current trust seem to be very anti dogs. The 2nd dam where the dogs could cool off now fenced off and a murky cement puddle, with no off flow, and too small provided with a fancy signboard which probably cost more then the dog play area. Caulfield racecourse market is on the 1st Sunday of every month from 9.00am to 2.00pm Great when weather is nice. Lots of stalls for gifts, plants , jewellery and food. Marquees surround the lake in middle of racecourse. Free entry. Lots of people walk there dogs there...
