1/2 Came here to enjoy a meal with my sister and step dad and was met with unprofessional, intimidating staff. There was confusion over the menu as majority of it wasn’t available, yet we still politely ordered and paid for our meals without complaint. We had a member of staff, presumably the manager harass and intimate us over a google review we didn’t write. She came up to us multiple times demanding that we wrote it and trying to start an argument with us, it was super bizarre and uncomfortable. We were the only black people in the restaurant, and we hate to feel like we were racially targeted. Because of this we didn’t feel comfortable finishing our meals, so we left and as we tried to pay but were still harassed with the same strange and inappropriate line of questioning. Would not recommend this place, very unprofessional staff and half a menu.
2/2 Hi,
This response from you is shocking and seriously disrespectful. Not only have you lied about the way in which you and your staff conducted yourselves, with intimidation multiple times DURING and AFTER trying to eat our meals, but you still cannot apologise for racially profiling and harassing us. Your blatant dismissal and lying doesn’t change what happened, this damage control is shameful.
Have you considered that maybe someone who had a bad experience at a different time or day left the review? Have you considered that someone at a different table was unhappy with the menu problems? I have no issue leaving you a 1 star review, I’m very proudly doing that now as we had an awful experience here with mid-range food.
If you care so much about your google reviews you should consider learning how to respectfully interact with customers, and how to cultivate an enjoyable eating experience.
It is not appropriate for you to conduct yourself in this way. It is wildly unprofessional and quite frankly embarrassing. Even if we did leave that review, is that anyway to conduct resolving the situation? Harassing and demanding PAYING customers?
My step-dad said there were no issues so we could leave faster, as you would not stop intimidating him. We were all extremely uncomfortable and needing to leave after experiencing such poor behaviour.
How abhorrent.
I will be warning my friends and family about this...

Like other recent and well credentialled reviewers, we really liked Xeom. It’s a very nice place. We liked the tables. We liked the street influenced decor. We loved the modern music playing. We even admired the mini scooter tyre wash basin. Very clever. We also loved the open kitchen here. So much activity and so many lovely food aromas coming from the area.
Best and most important of all, the food Is really good here and it and the cafe well exceeded our expectations. The prawn harlow dumplings were delicious. Hot, beautiful plump and well cooked with great flavour and a wonderful dipping sauce. The duck curry with roti was specifically recommended to us and it is a lovely dish as well. Excellent rich flavour again with very good roti. The curry is a tad runny though so beware.
The papaya salad with prawn and chicken is a superb salad. Again, it has lovely flavours and textures complete with lots of peanuts and fried shallots. It was absolutely wonderful and was our nominated dish of the night. It was so refreshing that I made sure I finished the meal with a couple of mouthfuls of this excellent salad that I’d held back. Those helped finished the meal perfectly. We both commented that this dish made us feel like we were back on the streets of Hanoi.
Xeom’s famous spicy lime rice noodles with chicken and prawns has lovely lime flavour. It is a large serve as is the salad. The spice is slightly and delicately understated. Cracking dish as well this one.
Service was beautiful throughout. It was for all tables that we observed.
We would heartedly recommend Xeom. It is a...
