Zipang — Restaurant in Melbourne

I came here because I saw a 4.6 star rating, so why not have a try. The food we ordered was a sushi set meal B and chicken curry don (rice).

First for the chicken curry rice was very standard, even though due to covid restrictions and everything is served in a container, still with a eager heart to try the food everything can be looked passed. Flavour is reasonable mild and the chicken pieces was warm in the inside, a little warmer would be nice, rice was cooked well.

The sushi set was very average with the udon miso soup, with the pricing that it is charged I would expect a little more above for the standards, similar pricing I have had better else where in Melbourne.

A honourable mention would be the sushi, the seaweed is fresh and the rice is very well vinegared.

But a 3 star would be something I would give to this restaurant, with the customer service and real Japanese cooking Japanese food. Need a but more attention the food imo and also pricing, if you want genuine Japanese making Japanese food, you can check this place out, but if you want bang for the buck, I would recommended...

I took my two girls to have dinner at Zipang and we absolutely enjoyed everything we ordered. My youngest is not a great eater and hardly finishes her food, but she devoured her chicken sushi hand roll and gyoza in about 10 minutes!
