Phatty Boombah — Restaurant in Mildura

We got takeaway from here for lunch. We had specifically went in for the bao buns after seeing them on the menu. On the menu, they are said to have “two baos. One filled with crispy chicken, lettuce & pineapple salsa + pulled pork, apple slaw & fresh herbs” (Phatty Boombah menu on their website). However, when received, the not-at-all-crispy chicken bao bun had just lettuce, and no pineapple salsa while the pulled pork bao bun had plain cabbage coleslaw (one that could be easily found in Woolworths salad section for cheap), and not apple slaw as advertised. You’d think you’d received everything listed if you spent $12 on two small bao buns and less than a handful of chips.

Additionally, we had the Mac & Cheese Croquettes which were average at best. I understand why they have the mustard aioli with it; because they’re so bland and not anything to rave about.

While the service was okay, and the cooking was prompt, the 35 cents surcharge for Eftpos on the average and false advertised food was not...

Legit the best burger and chips I've ever had, no exceptions. Could not fault this place. It's clean, the service was friendly and very quick, the price is reasonable for what you get, the burger was delicious, and those chips, oh my goodness, it's like they're from another planet...how do you get every.single.chip to be so crunchy?!? Honestly, not one single soggy chip in the whole lot. They were pretty salty though, so if you're getting chips and you're not into salt, maybe ask them to go easy. They were very accommodating when I changed up my burger, adding a couple of ingredients. This place is a bit out of the way and doesn't look much from the outside, but it's truly worth a visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

2024 update: sorry guys, I wanted to love you again, but the quality of your food was not nearly as good this time as on my last visit in 2022. Burger lacked taste, and no longer comes with chips included as it did with my last order. Sadly, disappointed. I hope this was just...

I ordered home delivery through their website. The kids meals did not recieve their drink or ice cream (upon complaint- these are apparently only complimentary) The beef little piggy was soggy, and literally just fell to pieces, the box was just all oil. The holumi sticks were dry and crumbly definitely not as pictured. The chips were cold and soggy in all 4 meals and were not eaten. The biscoff cheesecake i ordered was given to me as a caramel macadamia cheesecake- lucky i have no allergies but definitely will not be eaten. The nuggets and tropicana Schnitzel were okay. I was refunded for the beef little piggy and delivery fee but even so, i definitely will not return.. Not impressed...
