Langtree Cafe — Restaurant in Mildura

Took myself to lunch today at this cafe, asked to be seated and was told no seats available inside due to covid restrictions fair enough, so agreed to take away. Asked what sandwiches they had available as only sandwiches on disply were stale looking ham cheese tomato in cabinet only option and no menu available I was initially told that was only option when I suggested I didn't want ham cheese tomato the exasperated responce from the food service person was well what do you want? No example of what might be available so I ordered a ham and cheese with no tomato. He took one of the previously identified ham cheese tomato that had been sitting in the cabinet and walked away. Meanwhile 5 other patrons walked in and sat down.at empty tables... didnt sign in didnt check if that would be over the numbers under covid restrictions. No one said any thing another table of mums were allowing there young children to run around in close proximity to other patrons. My coffee order was completed and a female started yelling out it was ready from the other end of the cafe rather than walk the 10 feet to hand it to me. Eventually she marched towards me clearly not pleased and I advised her I was waiting for the rest of my order. My sandwich eventually arrived nearly toasted and with the remnants of the tomato that had been plucked off said sandwich. (Lucky I'm not allergic to tomatoes) As someone who operated 2 x small businesses very successfully across multiple central city (melb/Sydney) sites I really really dislike poor/chaotic/rude service which this cafe has in abundance. This is my 2nd experience of this in this establishment so....... Never...

I walked in and politely asked if there is a toilet available before I ordered "not for walk-ins". I'm ordering I explained. Two flights of stairs to the toilet (all clean). Waitstaff bring menus to the table. They do not say I have to order at the counter and there is no signature anywhere advising so. Eventually I ask someone and they say yes, you have to order at the bar. I get lasagne and salad and a ln orange juice. Orange juice was yummy and beautifully presented. But the food. Very average salad with too much grated carrot and dressing from a supermarket bottle. Lasagne hot in some parts and cool in others. Burnt a tough on the bottom - some parts not edible. Lasagne sheets no integrity and all a mush. No one has collected my.plate or asked if I enjoyed the meal. Good for drinks and wait staff nice.

And all for $27.00!!!! Small businesses are suffering maybe, but if you're going to charge nearly 30 dollars - make it good food. I won't come here...

WOW we have been travelling around victoria & this place ticks all the boxes, my husband is fairly fussy & l said “ let’s pop in here as the menu has a wide range” they have a roof top area that was pumping, a family area where we sat, outdoor area & pickup & takeaway which l observed to be flat out so GOOD ON YOU LANGTREE CAFE,BAR,RESTAURANT , obviously a well known place, my husbands response after we started eating, “ good choice, by the end he was saying “best food his has the entire trip” l said “well you better tip well” & after our long day touring tomorrow we have booked into LANGTREE CAFE,BAR,RESTAURANT for tomorrow before we leave Mildura. Sent pics of our dishes to family and friends which we normally would never do, but if hey are ever in Mildura then we don’t want them to miss this place, service and prices excellent too!
