My husband and I stayed for a couple of nights in Mittagong for a wedding last Friday. I checked online where to go for breakfast weeks beforehand. Based on the great reviews I suggested to our friends that we come here for breakfast.

I highly recommend coming here and having one of their delicious meals.

The four of us walked in last Friday for breakfast with no reservations. We were kindly directed to take a seat by a window bench. The cafe was a full house, and we all thought we'd be waiting for at least 20 minutes. A table became available, cleared, and cleaned, and we waited no longer than five minutes.

Everything on the menu sounded delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals - Mushroom Toast, Egg Your Way - and added spinach, mushrooms and avocado for sides, and Ham and Cheese Toastie.

My girlfriend requested no cracked pepper on her scrambled egg when she placed her order. The staff repeated back to us our orders and emphasised there be no cracked pepper on the scrambled egg. Unfortunately, when it was served, there was cracked pepper on it. The meal was taken back. A new serving with the correct order arrived shortly afterwards. Now, it sounds bad after the order was repeated to us, but I have to admit some cooks/chefs may do this automatically. Meal portions were very generous. Their freshly squeezed carrot, apple and ginger juice is nice and refreshing, and excellent black coffee.

My pet hates when going to a cafe/restaurant is when empty plates/cups, and used cutleries, etc. are left on the table. Whilst we sat and sipped our juice/coffee our plates etc. were quietly removed from our table. Tables were cleared and wiped down when customers were finished with their meals. This is one thing I really like about this place. Keep it up!

We all liked it here so much that we came back for breakfast the following morning for breakfast. I had the Power Green Bowl....yum! My girlfriend had the Mushroom toast.

We'll drop by next time when passing through Mittagong.

A special thank you to Yoki! She remembered the following morning, no cracked pepper on my girlfriend's order, and it was delivered as ordered! Yoki also remembered I like to have my black coffee after my meal!

Exceptional service, very friendly and top-notch staff. A nice and...

Holy smokes I cannot recommend this place enough! On a cold & misty Saturday morning I had booked into another cafe for 10 people for a birthday brunch, with guests travelling from Canberra and Sydney, only to find out 45 minutes before the booking that the other cafe had closed and not bothered to let us know and I was in a PANIC! A friend recommended Chapter One Eatery and what a happy accident it turned out to be. They fit us in, the menu and ambiance was incredible and the staff were SO attentive and provided amazing service. I knew I was in the right place when the first menu item I saw included caviar! Several people in the group commented on how great the cafe was, noting their reasonable pricing, amazing food and great coffee. I will 100% be back regularly even though it’s a 30 min drive for me. If I could give more stars I would, thank you Chapter One Eatery for saving my...

We had such a lovely breakfast at this charming spot! The coffee was absolutely top-notch, smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. You can tell they take pride in their brew. The food was a real standout. We has the Scrabble Eggs Croissant and the Power Green Bowl. Both to die for! Every dish was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The service was equally wonderful, friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. This place has a great atmosphere and is perfect for a relaxed morning with amazing food and coffee. Highly recommend for anyone looking to try something familiar with a unique cultural flair. We’ll...

Perfect brunch spot for a stop on the way from Sydney to Canberra. Coffee amazing, super-friendly and efficient wait staff, and beautifully presented, creative food. My 'scrabble egg' with crab meat, rich egg and wilted spinach on an open croissant was to die for. The spaghetti king prawn was a generous serve, with a hint of traditional Thai tom yum flavour. Our scallops on the shell were cooked perfectly, accompanied with a well balanced sauce. As you can see, this is not your typical Cafe. Go to this special place. You will be happy and full.
