Highly recommend The Grand Indian. After staying in Mittagong for a few nights, tonight's dinner was taken away. Compliments to the chef (& waitress). The aroumas when opening our dinner to serve were aromatic and our dinner was authentic and so delicious. Choosing to takeaway, our meals were well prepared (wrapped to avoid spillage). We ordered from with in the restaurant of which half hour from closing time & a public holiday was well attended. The waitress was friendly and polite. Please don't judge the quick snaps on the quality of The Grands food. I had no intentions at time of taking the pics I would need them to leave a review, however the food was just so amazing. They certainly had to be commended. Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed. You must try their coconut rice. We also had the Chicken Korma and Chicken Naan bread. All exceeded our expectations. Thanks to all working at the Grand on New Years Day. We are so glad we choose you guys for our dinner...
Read moreFood was great however serves were relatively small and artificial color not pleasant in mint and yogurt dressing with entries. Service was dreadful with youngsters who had little knowledge of hospitality. Patrons next to us left as no-one bothered to return to take orders . Needs Banquet menu to simplify orders particularly for larger groups. Maybe just the night but alot of noisy children which made dining unpleasant. Toilets need regular attention as urine all over the floor and no toilet paper. For an Indian Restaurant there was not an Indian in sight or in control of inexperienced wait staff.
We will try again as this restaurant...
Read moreWe had a lovely meal here. I know a little about indian cuisine, so my standards are relatively high, and I would go back for the saag paneer and garlic naan. The samosa was a bit too bready (get this sorted please!), but overall well made (ie not too oily). The service is very friendly, though the lady (girl?) who served us at reception knew absolutely nothing about the menu, the items on it, or indian cuisine generally. In the end this just made us laugh more than anything. She was clueless, but it was fine.
Also they need to get some paneer tikka...
