Mittagong Park Charcoal Chicken — Restaurant in Mittagong

Was on the way back to Sydney so stopped at this shop to buy lunch with a mate. We were all wearing mask, so when i was placing the order, the man couldn't hear properly, and instead of asking, he just said something i couldn't understand with an annoyed look. While waiting, my mate just told me that this guy seem a little bit rude. When my order was ready, the man started calling out. I ordered Portuguese burger, but me and my mate kept hearing him say four cheese burger. So I didn't go and get my order. After a while he said the same thing again, and feeling unsure, I thought i will just go and check to see if he was actually saying Portuguese burger, which he did. And he looked at me with an extremely annoyed face and said 'What's going on?' loudly that people around can hear it.. Right there I had to explain I thought he was saying Four cheese burger, not Portuguese burger. he then continued bickering while I just took the burger and walked away. It was just embarrassing. Needless to say, definitely not going back there when we have to stop in Mittagong again.. Seriously, if you are not happy to have customers in the shop, why not just quit the job and do...

BAD EXPERIENCE - we popped in to grab some takeaway this week. I stood at the counter for 6-7 minutes after deciding what I wanted to order from the board. There was a young girl behind the counter, a lady on the phone and a man behind the counter. No one acknowledged me as I attempted to make eye contact with any one of them. The man was growling at the young girl and seemed to be aggressively reprimanding her, he grabbed a chicken snitzel off the grill, chucking it across the bench to slide across the counter, growling at the girl who seemed upset (glad this wasn’t my food!). Another man emerged from the kitchen and came the register where I was standing, he didn’t look at me as I said ‘how’s it going’. He did something to/with the till and then walked back into the kitchen, ignoring me. I stood there a minute longer and noticed the ‘no eftpos’ sign and as that’s all I had and that they didn’t seem to want my business, I walked out glancing at the rank, water-logged ‘salads’ swimming in the cooler box....

Sadly this is not the charcoal chicken shop I hoped to find after moving to Mittagong recently. It's just down the road and I really wanted it to be a good place for a quick easy meal after work. I ordered a hot pack, which is a quarter chicken, roast potato, carrot, corn and peas with gravy, for $14. Firstly they charged 50 cents surcharge for using eftpos. I queried it and was told by the nice young lady that it's the bosses decision, and that things are tight for businesses just now. I commented that things are tight for customers too. I don't think it's even legal to do that. My meal arrived after a bit of a wait, I got it home and the carrot, corn and peas are heated up frozen diced vegetables, which I couldn't eat. The roast potato tasted strange, couldn't eat it. The chicken wasn't too bad, but I was well and truly turned off by then and couldn't eat it. Unfortunately I will need to find somewhere else for my nice easy meal after work, and also something else for dinner tonight! A cheese...
