I like this place because I can have breakfast with my dog here in the outside setting. The coffee is always great and the front of house are always friendly.
Now, time for the actual review...... I had the beef burger, being a chef, it's hard to be pleased with food.
When my food arrived, it looked and smelled fantastic.... My first bite into the burger, I noticed something very odd. It didn't taste like beef.... I had a second bite, I was so confused.... so I pulled apart the beef patty.....
Olmate chef has mixed in so much breadcrumbs in to make the mince go further. Why????
In doing so, the burger patty tasted amazingly terrible!! Beef mince isn't expensive and for a chef to be doing this is appalling. Please, the guy or madam owning this establishment. Please speak to your chef about this.
I was very much disappointed at this experience and horrified that some chefs still cut corners. It's a beef burger not beef and breadcrumb burger, you can't fool a good chef with good taste buds.
The crew at station coffee has a beef burger on their menu and I can tell you now that their beef burger is miles above the atrocity I recieved from coffee culture that day.
In all honesty, if I see that Indian chef cooking if I happen to visit again, I most definitely won't eat anything just a coffee to go.
Do better chef. Or just don't...
Read moreAfter several previous disappointments due to unfriendly staff and mediocre food, I foolishly decided to give this place another go... only to find it has gone from bad to worse.
Paid $15 for a small plate of corn fritters, which consisted of three small overcooked (almost burnt) fritters and a bit of dipping sauce, without even a speck of garnish. If you want a side salad, which used to be included, you have to pay another $3. I have rarely felt so ripped off by a café. This was nowhere near $15 worth of food.
Coffee was weak and lukewarm and even the tap water tasted bad.
The people next to us had to clean their own table.
I will not be back. How they maintain a 4.4 star rating...
Read moreNever been here before and only passing through and this placed grabbed my eye for a quick takeaway coffee, I ended up staying for the beef sausages on a bed of mash potato with onion gravy and the coffee. It was so well worth it. It was the best I’ve had for a long time and highly recommend it, perfect taste quantity and proportion, with what seems to be a high quality hot coffee as that went down a treat. This will be my stop of point from now when I’m coming through. Always asked for the beef sausages on the bed of mashed potato with the onion gravy as it wasn’t on menu but was a chefs special. But if they don’t have it that day you won’t be disappointed with anything...
