Ordered extra hot double shot cap. Perfect! I look at the pie warmer and think to myself, "Chunky beef huh', will it really be chunky"?, oh well lets hope for the best. I order the pie and go to my car to get my laptop because they have power 'Yay!' When i get back to the table, my coffee and pie are waiting for me. I look at the pie, pastry looks fresh and kinda flaky, nice. I then glance at the knife and fork container but figure I wont need a knife and fork to eat a simple pie, which might be 'chunky beef'. I pick the pie up and take a bite, now here comes the warning, you better make sure you use a knife and fork, this is one serious pie. :-) Chunky beef was delivered in abundance. My only regret is I forgot to photograph because I was too busy enjoying the experience. So if you want a real pie, you better head to the Corner store, that is for sure. P.S Good service by staff who look and act like they enjoy their work. About an hour has passed, I have been working on my computer listening to a nice variety of music, decided to order a peppermint tea. I figured like many cafes I would receive a t bag in a small cup but not the corner store, I get real peppermint leaves and in a nice cup that my big clunky index finger can actually hold in comfort. BTW Relishes spices gifts and a variety of interesting products are sold here..............will I be back? If I leave, yes, I'll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy partner and I purchased some product from Mudgee Corner Store while visiting the area.
Unfortunately one of the meats we purchased was 2 months out of date which we didnāt realise until we returned home. Anne, the manager, was really great in sorting out a refund and sent us some local Mudgee chocolate to apologise. She followed up with us to ensure the refund was processed and that we received our chocolate.
The available product in store is great, although the lack of prices on their items can give you a surprise at the counter when you realise the total as you pay (the girl behind the counter didnāt tell us the total). That being said, we expected to pay a little more for good local produce, it would just have helped to know as we purchased. We also wish there was more available in the store to buy as the shelves were basically only half full and some of the items you can get in IGA all over the place too.
Hopefully they can check their produce more thoroughly before placing in the fridge, label the prices on their items, and stock more for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHeard a lot of good things about this little niche corner store so popped in for lunch this afternoon. It's a step back in time to the old corner store, from the retro laminate table to the gorgeous vintage crockery our food was served on. And the food was delicious! I had a gluten-free spaghetti bolognese while hubby had an aromatic Indian curry that he refused to share! Hubby's also a coffee snob and he gave his coffee a big thumbs up! We placed an order for a loaf of gluten-free bread (baked every Friday) and Joan, the cook/baker, came out to have a chat about the numerous gluten-free options that they stock/serve in the store. Absolutely loved the place, the food, the atmosphere. Think we've just found our new weekly Saturday...
