The Culinary Nightmare of golden dragon If you're seeking a dining experience that borders on the inedible, then this is the place for you. The service was so glacial that I'm pretty sure the staff were training snails to take orders. The ambiance? A dingy, fluorescent-lit cavern that would make a hospital waiting room seem inviting. But the real horror show was the food. The spring rolls were so greasy, they could've been deep-fried in motor oil. The stir-fry was a flavorless, soggy mess that insulted both rice and noodles. And the sweet and sour pork? A gelatinous, sickly sweet abomination that should be banned from the culinary world. I've eaten better meals in a gas station. Seriously. Do yourself a favor and avoid this culinary catastrophe at all costs.

This is my second time at this restaurant and that says a lot - especially since I’ve been a vegetarian my whole life and has Asian background. You can tell the owner really knows his way around Asian dishes. The three dishes I got this time were still tasty! The tofu dish (Granda Brancurd) has a nice, spicy kick to it. The stir fry veggies were cooked just right, still crunchy and fresh. And the rice always come with different toppings but it never disappoints. I’d recommend this place to anyone, it's a real find! The duck picture just for my mate who loves his meat

Bertie and I arrived in Mudgee thirsty and wanting a snack. So, after a few beers, we hit the local Chinese, and we were not disappointed. The prawn toast was toasty prawny sesame goodness, and the special dumplings (10 for $2.00) had to be the best upsell I have heard in a while and done with a smile courtesy of Cindy. The mains are delicious: pork and squid special (peppery and tasty), crispy-skinned chicken and special fried rice. Fried ice cream dessert and that's a wrap...get your lips around this place.

Warning...the meals are HUGE! We took up an offer on the night, beside our order, for Singapore Noodles for $2. We thought it would be like an entre size, but nooo, it was a main meal+ size, lol. Take home containers were needed! Excellent value as the prices are very reasonable as well. We were stuck in Mudgee for the night and needing dinner. A quick walk down the road from where we stayed, we came upon this Restaurant. Cindy and her partner are SUPER friendly and helpful. My husband and I are not frequent public transport people so we are very unfamiliar with it all, nor tech savvy when doing tickets etc online. Cindy and her partner overheard us having a 'der' discussion on what we needed to do to catch the coach and train to Sydney airport, so they offered assistance, even going to the trouble/taking time out to sit and book the tickets for us. If that wasn't enough, they offered to give us a ride back to our accommodation. Definitely give this place a go. Thank you guys for a great dining experience....

Restaurants like this just don't exist anymore, or at least nowhere else it seems but Mudgee. Its condition time warps back 30 years or from a 3rd world country. The mutli coloured carpet was black with shoe grime, parts of furniture broken, even the dying pot plant at the entry was sitting on a rusted upside down metal bucket, odd paper notices stuck up faded and crooked, weird bizarre entry, even the two old dirty foam boxes that hold takeaway orders were disgusting. Just mind boggling. One look at the male worker wearing totally inappropriate singlet and I nearly left my takeaway i had phoned ordered. But this time of year decent eateries are shut and we'd already eaten 3 days of meals at the pubs. I have not described the worst of the Golden Dragon other than to say, dept of Health should do a swab although the naked eye can tell u as much as a petrie dish in the lab. The 4 prawn cutlets @ $9 were indescribably bad 2mm thin, way overfried to a dark brown and the prawn meat...

Got a take away meal from here last night. I will not return for any meal from here again and will deter any visiting friends or family to eat anything from here. The sweet n sour chicken was inedible, the chicken was separate from the sauce. It was 1 fillet which looked like it had been cooked several times and then cut into strip's. The sweet n sour sauce in separate container consisted of 2 slices of onion, 3 pieces of carrot a couple of beans and 4 pieces of pineapple. When I ate this it was like drinking a glass of vinegar. I put the meal straight in the bin. The mini spring rolls were so oily and dripped through the bag. The only saving grace for the order was the soup that hubby ordered. For the price, length of wait time it was not worth getting our meal from here. Person taking orders was very dismissive and not caring about any customer...
