McCue's Bakery — Restaurant in Murray Bridge

Uncooperative and rude owner. Had my car broken into up the road and asked for help regarding cctv footage because I could see from my cameras they walked past the bakery. They didn’t want to deal with anyone but the police. They rejected my request to email cctv to a police government email address to help them with my investigation because they didn’t trust me and it was an invasion of the thieves privacy. I offered too show them my footage and describe exactly what they were carrying to help them understand why I needed help and that I wasn’t trying to harm anyone so they’d be more understanding and willing to help provide footage to the police. I gave them a USB and asked politely to make a copy of the footage for the police to collect since the cops were going to attend after the footage was going to overwrite itself due to delays with investigation and the owner agreed to make a copy and said they understood and would have it in an envelope ready to be collected by police when they finally got round to going. Discovered that they never did it because they thought it wasn’t necessary and they couldn’t see the thieves faces so it wasn’t worth it and decided to make the decision for the police instead of letting them handle it. Do not expect to get any help from this business if you’re ever in trouble and need their cameras for a police report. This has in-turn impeded my case and cost me tens of thousands of dollars in lost equipment all because they couldn’t be bothered making a copy of the footage and I can’t identify the thieves. I can’t understand why you’d be so against helping a young man who’s had his car broken into find the people who did it. I’d be more than happy to give you footage if you were in my situation and everyone else I’ve approached regarding this has been extremely helpful and kind. Other business would be happy to help the bakery with whatever they needed I’m sure but the owner of this bakery does not seem to be the type to return the favour. Brides Beware Would not recommend to order a wedding cake from Mcues Bakery Murray Bride The cake we ordered was a gift from my beautiful Mum in law and ordered by my now husband. It was meant to have flowers, a Mr And Mrs sign and hearts Mmm we did not get our beautiful wedding cake but a cake that looked like a child’s birthday cake. No decorations but a scrawled black etching that said our first names and that was it, no decorations no anything.. It was meant to be one of the highlights of our wedding celebration as you could imagine. Yes Mcues it sure was a highlight for all the wrong reasons …. You should of been in the room when 90 Guests and a bridal party were all there to witness the unboxing.., Unforgivable And to make it worse when my husband went in first thing in morning to complain and demand a refund he was told it was his fault because the staff member forgot to tick the box on the form stating we wanted decorations and that my husband had signed it….Mmmm We had to make 2 visits and phone calls to this untrustworthy, disrespectful, establishment to receiver any sort of apology let alone a refund Definitely do...

Wish I could give 0 stars. Who hired you!?! Can not follow simple instructions on the cake order. They just do their own thing and hope you don’t mind or notice.

Requested; *Base cake 14” blue round Vanilla sponge with bakers cream in the centre (no extra filling), with 2 different coloured blue sprinkles on the side. No piping on the top But what do they do… They piped on the top of my cake..

“No piping” means NO PIPING. not to pipe cream over the top when I requested none.

Does no one understand what a base cake is.?!? Did you get classes on baking or are you a home baker?? Either way you should know what a base cake is. Should have I requested a crumb coated cake instead? I think not, I probably would have received a blue cake coated in crumble. 🫣
