Wollumbin Street Bakery — Restaurant in Murwillumbah

I was served by the rudest young girl yesterday afternoon. I only wanted a drink and there was a queue. I waited for a bit and realised she was very slow so asked her if I could leave the right money on the counter . In front of everyone she VERY loudly told me that she was the only one there and she had lots of coffees to make and I should wait. After standing for 10 minutes( I would have walked out but I had opened the can) she wandered over and just stared at me. I figured she was waiting for me to hand over the money. No word was spoken. I paid and won’t be back. I was so embarrassed at the way she loudly chastised me for trying to put the cash on the counter and then to glare at me for payment. We were looking for some nice pies as we were driving through Murwillumbah but we were very disappointed. We ordered 3 pies & a caramel tart. One of the pies we had was Lamb & rosemary which we couldn’t even eat it was so dry, it had big chunks of gristly dry lamb and hardly any sauce around the meat. The other 2 pies were bacon & cheese but they were mainly filled with mince that didn’t have much of a bacon flavour or cheese, the pastry on the bottom was mushy too and all fell apart as soon as you bit into one. Don’t waste your time or money- absolutely horrid. The food is not fresh - the 3 types of cakes and rolls clearly sit there for days, the quality of ingredients tastes cheap (and more often than not the food is inedible), there is absolutely no variety of items, hardly anything is available to actually order- most of the time things are ‘sold out’ and on the weekends you see staff heat up 3 pies at a time to restock the shelves. Don’t know what type of culture the team has but the staff are incredibly rude and always look like they are put out by serving customers and that they don’t want to be there.
