I visited a takeaway shop called Charcoal Chicken in Long Jetty around 5:30 PM on a Saturday. My friend had mentioned that it was a takeaway-only spot, and at first, I was skeptical, but it turned out to be true. There were a lot of people there, so it seems to be a popular place with the local community.
I’m a big fan of charcoal chicken, so I was naturally drawn to this place. However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. They only offer takeaway, which I found a bit disappointing. Even though they gave me a number, they didn’t seem to call it out when the food was ready, so I had to wait longer than expected.
The food didn’t live up to expectations either. I believe food like charcoal chicken tastes best when it’s fresh and hot, but by the time I got home, the food had cooled down. Thankfully, the service & friendliness of the staff has not. They have handled the difficulties associated with food service during the era of Government restrictions with aplomb & always a...
Read moreFirst time, never going back. I ordered a whole chicken and chips, for which I was told that I would have to wait 15 minutes. Normally this would be okay except I actually ended up waiting 50 minutes with no apology, or staff informing me of a longer wait, which is extremely ridiculous. Considering the queue of clientele awaiting their orders it is absurd that the clear majority of staff were focused on their clean up duties without care or respect for those waiting. Management clearly needs to focus attention on order prioritisation, task prioritisation and a general grasp of the concept of providing half decent...
