Banana Coast Seafood — Restaurant in New South Wales

I am not the type of person who feels the need to leave any type of review regardless of how the food/service is however today I have decided to make an exception and write my first ever review.

Genuinely wish I could give no stars but here we go.

The “head chef” as she calls herself with the tattoo on her face treats her staff like complete dirt, she abuses and yells and has absolutely no respect for both her customers and her staff. She was ridiculously rude and should not be involved in any type of business involving customer service.

Prices are absurd and although we were happy to pay we were met with half full chips. $10.90 for chips and yet no decency to actually give us what we paid for. I came back to the service desk and mentioned the chips were half full and was met with the “head chef” who rolled her eyes, snatched the chips out of my hands, threw them back in the fryer and then proceeded to complain about me to her staff whilst I was in the room. After waiting an additional 10mins she then decided hand me back the same chips (now overcooked) in a different container. When I approached the desk to bring up the issue of half full chips yet again i was met with “it looks like less because it’s in a larger container”

No interest in doing the right thing and resolving the issue, they just want to take your money.

Absolutely 0 customer service. As I am sure you read above already. This place lacks any respect for staff and customers and is an abusive and toxic environment for both.

We ordered 2 burgers and chips (over $40) and waited 50mins. There was 3 customers who arrived in that timer however they seemed to be too busy bickering to actually get anything done.

Will not be back and will be sure to spread the word that this place is a waste of time.Save your time and your money and go...

I have traveled to so many fish and chips shop and this place was the best I have had. Everything from customer service to their food was amazing. We were greeted by a lovely lady at the counter who was more then happy to help and recommend what meals she considered good for our large family. We ended up ordering the $59 meal and oh my goodness it was fantastic. The Chips are thick And yummy, the seafood was on point, I have never had a prawn cocktail that I have enjoyed because of the flavour that goes into the prawn but theses were amazing it was a thick prawn in a light batter the prawn so so fresh you could taste the sea salt. The Garlic prawns skewers 3 for $10 were perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. There was 9 of us and all of us agreed it was the best we have had. This shop looked promising when we walked in- old chalkboard and frozen fish on ice. The two ladies behind the counter were nice and “traditional” fish mongers. The lady who makes the burgers is really into applying copious amounts of butter on the bun. However, my partner didn’t think it was overdone. He said the egg was nice and gooey. The chips were underwhelmingly like those I remember eating as a kid. The flake was just okay. Perhaps I should had ordered something more glamorous but the counter lady assured me it was a good pick. Probably would have preferred the shop up the road but they were on a break and referred us here. Wouldn’t come back...
