DECO Wine Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in New South Wales

Deco’s one of those places you find and instantly want to tell people about. The food is consistently good, and the service is warm and down to earth.

The chicken skewers are hands down my favourite. They’re juicy, full of flavour and cooked just right, i don’t think ive ever had this flavour profile ever. The beer battered calamari is another winner. Very light, crisp and fresh.

Then there was the coffee. It’s some of the best barista coffee I’ve had outside a dedicated café. I had a flat white and it came smooth, strong and made properly. I’d happily come back just for a quiet coffee.

The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome without overdoing it. Service was prompt but relaxed, and they care about the service they provide you.

I think this is a good place for a catch up with a glass of wine as it's not overly big so most of the seating at the front is of the bar stool or lounge variety. Service was prompt and efficient. I had the chicken leek pie which was nice and a decent price at 19.90 although I do prefer a pot pie with pastry covering the top of the bowl. This one was a bit of a strange still taste it good, the chicken in the pie was nice but whole pieces of chicken with the bone in I'm never a fan in curries or pies as you just spend half the meal wondering what you're going to spit out next. Being new to town, I was recommended some spots to dine and Deco was highly recommended by both locals and frequent visitors. After visiting (multiple times) I can safely say that it definitely is a hidden gem in regional Australia.

The food is delicious, 5 star hotel like customer service and the ambiance is chic and stylish but somehow feels like home.

Next time I would probably try staying at the hotel cause apparently the restaurant is part of the accommodation. If the restaurant is that good, im pretty sure the actual hotel will be just as fantastic. Hopefully it comes with breakfast. Will update...
