Fish And Chips — Restaurant in New South Wales

Well, this is awkward; I have left good review in past; today not so much. As a local of some 14 years, I have made this my go to; this has changed today, jetty here we come boyz. Prices are now in my view just offensive; example; a Dim Sim wholesale is $21 they selling for now $3.50, this item is marked up 10 times its cost; our non-tourist F&C charges $1.80! Chips were incredibly sad indeed; with a taste I can't put my finger on! our fish (apart from exorbitant costing) dry, no sure if overcooked or? But my gut tells me it was pulled out of the freezer, as I have experienced this result in travels before. Appears the reviews are running under TWO separate entries, Banna Coast and F&C's - SAME, SAME so I will post in both. My wife is adding that attitude to serving was demeaning and very ill-mannered.

Finding the place was a little challenging but Google does a great job. Turning up to the place I was pleasantly surprised to see an old fashioned fish and chip shop. Something that reminded me of childhood. Big board of selections made choosing what to have a challenge but once we worked it out the staff were very helpful in making up our order. Fish was good, sweet potato and normal potato scallops excellent (and I have tried alot of scallops) but personally I wasnt a fan of the chips. Enough salt but too chunky for the way I like them. Price though was good for what we were given I thought as we struggled to get through it all (lots of chips!). I did review 3 years ago this place under Bananacoast fish and chips with 5 Stars. Today I spent just over $110 to get to my apartment and unpack a lot of frozen seafood, fish pieces are half of the size they used to be and rubbery, scallops burned and unedible, every tasted the same, prawns are frozen, calamari rubbery, and a chicken burger $17 what a ripp off. It's quite disappointing as used to be the best fish and chips in coffs harbour, now is very average,overpriced and food is tasteless.
