Absolutely Abysmal – A Masterclass in How NOT to Run a Restaurant
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Dining here was not just a disappointment—it was a full-blown disaster. I’m honestly still in disbelief that a place like this can stay open with the level of negligence, rudeness, and utter incompetence on display.
Let’s start with the service. Or, rather, the lack of it. We waited over 45 minutes just to get menus. No, that’s not an exaggeration. Forty-five actual minutes of watching the staff stand around chatting, checking their phones, and deliberately avoiding eye contact. When we finally flagged someone down, the waitress acted like we had personally offended her by existing. No greeting, no apology, just a grunt and a menu tossed onto the table like she was feeding barn animals.
After another eternity, we placed our order. A simple one: two mains, no substitutions. Nothing fancy. It took over an hour and a half to get our food. By that point, we were starving and furious. And when the food finally showed up? Wrong dishes. Cold. Sloppily thrown together like someone blindfolded a raccoon and told it to “just do its best.”
We politely asked to speak to the manager, hoping to resolve things like adults. What we got was someone who looked like they hadn’t slept in a week, reeking of indifference and arrogance. Their response? “Well, it’s a busy night.” There were four other tables. Four. That’s not “busy”—that’s your bare minimum, and they couldn’t even handle that.
The cherry on top? The bill arrived, and we were charged for extra items we never ordered. When we pointed it out, the waitress rolled her eyes so hard I thought they might get stuck. No apology. No correction. Just a sigh and a muttered, “I’ll go fix it,” like it was the greatest inconvenience she’d ever faced.
This wasn’t just bad service. It was hostile. It felt like a social experiment testing how far you could push paying customers before they snap. I’ve had better experiences at DMV offices. At least there, the misery is free.
Save yourself the headache. There are plenty of other restaurants in town that don’t treat guests like intruders. I wouldn’t go back here if...
Read moreThis is a tough review, because our experience at Grill'd Erina is 2 sided. We aren't overweight or huge eaters, so this should be a fair review.
First, The CONS. Wow, what a SMALL hamburger. You wouldn't want to be too hungry, as it barely touched the sides of my stomach. Listen, I was there at the Opening of Grill'd Erina, the burgers were bigger and had a more generous level of ingredients, so they have definitely down-sized. That may be ok for a cheap burger, but wow at 16, 17 dollars for a tiny handed burger....that's just not good. Then, there is the fact that the grill'd "business model" is to charge for fries. Honestly, since WHEN and WHERE in the world is a burger NOT served with a side of fries?? This is enough to send any American on holiday into serious SHOCK. A $16 burger....but the fries are extra?! Far out. This is not high end....this is just down right stingy. Ok... Now to THE PRO'S This will be short and sweet. Service and staff are excellent and very friendly and professional. Now onto the food. What a TASTE SENSATION. Their burgers really are a taste sensation. Their sauces are amazing, everything is cooked perfectly....so, I won't argue this at all.
So in summary, although sure, my taste buds were happy, my wallet felt pillaged and my stomach still hungry.
Kind of like...."Upbeat Dissapointment", that is how I...
Read moreI don’t normally leave bad reviews. However all I wanted was a simply Grill’d without the relish, onion and mayo, but adding cheese. I went with my mum who also got a burger. The burgers came out surprisingly quickly, but when we got them all the ingredients are mixed up between the two burgers?!! So we told them and they went and “fixed it”, we got the burgers and my mums burger seemed all good so she started eating hers. However my burger had cranberry sauce?! That cranberry sauce was supposed to be on my mums burger not mine and I also had mayo on my burger even though I ordered without. Because my mum already started eating hers she didn’t bother asking to fix hers again, but I told them that my burger was made incorrectly again. This time they actually re-did it properly thank the lord.
I personally work in hospitality so I know what it’s like, but it’s really not that hard to follow an order.
I find it really concerning because as someone with lots of food allergies, if my mum happened to order something that I’m allergic to and they failed to make it correctly and if I didn’t check my burger I would’ve had an anaphylactic reaction. So in future I hope that you can READ A ORDER and make it correctly so that no one has an allergic reaction.
Have a nice day and idc if you...
