We arrived on a Sunday lunch time, the huge children's playground outside was busy with families. Oddly, the inside restaurant had only 2 occupied tables? We entered and waited to be seated, as instructed by the signage. We waited, and waited, and waited. A girl taking a excessively long time to open bottles of drink advised someone would be with us shortly, we were still waiting for several more minutes before we were attended too. The girl then promptly asked where we wanted to sit. There was only like 10 inside tables (no outside seating) available and 2 were already occupied, and being a group of 4 that limited our choice to about 3 tables. After waiting so long to be seated we just wanted a seat! Very odd that she asked where we wanted to sit. We were given some menus, but no menu for our almost 3y/o son. They have high chairs and toys, not the mention this is opposite a beach and a massive playground, but no kids menu? I ordered the pumpkin and ricotta ravioli? Which was $16, I ordered my son bread and chips as I could not find any young child appropriate food. I was confused as to why the menus titles are written in Italian? The waiter told us the mussels were sold out but the chef special was 'chicken'. When we asked her what 'chicken' was she seemed confused, we clarified, "what does the chicken meal include?". Her reply, "oh I don't know, I'll ask the chef", when she returned she still didn't know what 'chicken' was, her description along the lines of "chicken in sauce with stuff". The food arrive in a decent time but I was very disappointed to find my bowl contained nothing more then 6 standard sized ravioli pieces and a large mound of rocket. I had intended to share my 'meal' with my son but there isn't enough for me! It was never mentioned to us that the food was tapas, not on their website, not on their menu and definitely not by our waiter. The meal my family order was also very small. The bathrooms are odd too. The sinks are very short, I'm 165 cm and I had to bend over to reach them. Also the pile of 50 rolls of toilet paper stacked on the bathroom floor leave me to think they don't have the best hygiene standards. After we finished our meals, I proceeded to the kiosk to get myself and my son a cookie each. I was the only person in line but still waiting forever to be served. The girl who didn't know what the 'chicken' meal was, was too busy chatting to other staff and playing with the tip jar to actually serve me and you know, get a tip? I paid $8 for 2 cookies no bigger then my palm. Sigh.
Over rated and over priced, they have missed their market here by overlooking what could be their biggest customer 'families with kids'. The kiosk menu isn't any better for...
Read moreLocation - 👍👍👍👍 Good location next to the playground for kids. They have a mobile library there as well. Time - 👍👍👍 Were quite prompt Quality- 👍👍👍 It's fresh ingredients. Taste - 👍👍 - most things are good - a couple of the burgers and nachos are excellent. I would not recommend the mango "smoothie" - it was more like a strange flavourless milkshake! Cost - 👍👍 expensive for what it is, I would say about 20-40% more expensive than most cafes, e.g.. a sausage roll $7! Banana bread $6 most places are about $4-5 dollars. So if you're happy to pay for more and you like chia, quinoa, "organic" stuff, etc... when in reality there is not much difference between bacon and eggs and most other foods, you would enjoy this place. If not, well it's an alright place to stop for the kids to play anyway. Variety - 👍👍👍 There is more of a restaurant next door (which I believe it's pay off the takeaway cafe) that serves a bigger variety, so you can head there as an alternative. I...
Read moreSNOW CONES ARE A LIE!! AND CRAPPY SERVICE. Waited a very long time to order (it was busy and they kept needing to leave the front to make food/drinks). Ok. Then ordered SNOW CONES as listed on their menu $5 each. We first asked for a plain snow cone. So just the ice. That was not something they could do apparently. We had to put something on and they said best they could do was sprite. Ok. Then ordered a tropical flavour snow cone as well for my two kids to share. Waited again. Finally we saw what looked like our order being made but it wasn't a "cone" it was a drink cup. And it wasn't shaved ice but chunks of ice. Then she went ahead and poured in a small bottle of sprite to one and straight cordial to the other. Put in some straws and handed us these iced drinks.. I questioned that we ordered snow cones and not drinks. She bluntly said that they were snow cones and walked off before I could say...
