Very disappointed.

We’re craving for Chinese cuisine and saw Mr. Deng Chinese Restaurant positive reviews so we came and dine in. We were quickly accommodated and seated, however, no plates and cutleries were given. We ordered our food and to our dismay, long soup with noodles were served in a very small chinese bowl, the salt and pepper squid were tough and rubbery to the point that you can’t even chew and eat it properly. We informed them about the dish and asked them to try it themselves so they know what we’re not making any excuses but they refused and offered us a replacement of salt and pepper prawns (please note that we have to pay for the replacement as well). The prawn was served and to our surprise, the prawn was not even fresh, it was the usual frozen prawns coated with their own batter. Not pleasant to eat :( The fried rice was sticky as well. Overall, our dining experience at Mr Deng was terrible. Can’t...

Best Chinese-style roasted duck I’ve ever had in Australia - very authentic, just like what you can find in Asia. We also ordered fried tofu with mixed vegetables and this dish was very well cooked even though the vegetables used seems more catered to westerners. Not complaining, just an observation. Our wanton soup was so good it brought me back to home.

Dishes were served very quickly and service was excellent. Staff were kind, polite, and efficient. One lady staff in pony tail and glasses (not sure what her name is) went out of her way to make sure we had a good meal. She also knew the menu inside out.

I would 100% recommend this restaurant to both Chinese and foreigners as they seem to have items on the menu that cater to the tastes of both. I personally would visit again the next time I return to Coffs Harbour. Keep up...

I have been buying Chinese from Colin for YEARS. Sadly I bought some month or so ago and tasted not the same standard. I bought some again on the weekend and it was still not the same. Honey chicken was matchstick chicken covered in butter and special fried rice with pretty much stuff all in it charged like a wounded ball $28 something for the mail. Was always worth the price with Colin because he insured top quality product. This business has now been deleted from my contacts for a takeaway. Lovely people but your product is nowhere near the standard but it was. Disappointing I have to say I don’t write reviews but I have this time. If you want to improve your product bring it back up to the standard it was but you have lost a customer to this restaurant...

This is the 3rd meal we have enjoyed here in a week, a lunch, weekend and weekday dinner. The food is fast, fresh, well seasoned and good sized portions. Our lunch today was BBQ pork with veges and sate chicken. Large slices of meat in a very tasty sauce. The Steamed Dim Sims are fat, juicy and delicious. The best I’ve had. Highly recommend visiting Mr Dengs Chinese Restaurant for extremely friendly service, great food and fair prices. Say Hi to the owner Colin and enjoy his hospitality and relaxed dining experience . Best Chinese in Coffs Harbour.

Ordered takeaway from here after a long day of driving. The king prawns were executed perfectly. Not oily and full of juicy flavour. My childhood chinese restaurant had rainbow steak and i loved it. However since eating at multiple restaurants since then I haven't seen it on the menu again until visiting Mr Dengs. Ordered it and it took me back 20 years to a happy place. I wish more restaurants offered it. Highly recommend eating here. And the best part about it i wasn't racing to the toilet like I do with other Chinese restaurants.
