For $225 per night this place is totally overpriced. There was mould in the freezer, the skirting boards were cracked and filthy and there was only one power point just above the skirting board. The air con is old and the pillows were tiny, one extra in the stale cupboard but not helpful when there are two of you! The best thing about this place was that you could see Dan Murphy’s out the window! If I could give half a star I would and that’s being generous.

Our experience here is the best. We had no advance booking, we were just on the road and tried to find accommodation to stay around 7 PM when we were on the way from Sydney to Brisbane. I always checked reviews before booking but this time I had no timw to check reviews and went in directly. We got tidy room and free parking. Well, plenty of parking available for free. Cheapest and Very close to the restaurants. Would recommened to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very good location. Close to pubs and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful guy at check in. Bit of traffic noise of a night coming in through the bathroom window but shut the bathroom door and it was pretty quiet. Room was comfortable and clean. Very reasonable price for the night as well. Fantastic water pressure in the shower with plenty of hot water. Will stay here again next time I’m in Coffs.

we have stayed at this motel on a few occasions in the past and decided to stay again, however, this time we stayed with new managers. We stayed in one of the self contained units which was very spacious and great for the purpose we needed it for with our large group attending. The website clearly says this room caters for 6-8 people however apparently only one carpark per room is allocated. You usually can't fit 6-8 people in one car! We didn't mind having to park on the road however didn't appreciate being abused by the male behind the counter for using more than one car park. We weren't told only one car per carpark and have never in the past had a problem with it. We don't know if we aren't told. Once we were aware we had no problem parking outside on the road. We were also abused by the managers for having more than what we booked in the room. She says she clearly has written down 2 adults and 3 children. Don't know where she got that from considering I told them we had 6 adults and a 5 year old child (who would be supplying her own fold up bed). To be verbally abused for having more than 2 adults and 3 children in the room because the room doesn't cater for that many is a joke when clearly the website says its caters for 6-8 people. On no occasion were the beds made and the room tidied up except on the first day the garbage was taken out and fresh towels give but nothing else and on the Sunday no one came near our room to either take out the garbage or give us fresh towels. Their excuse they don't service rooms on Sundays. What a load of garbage. Every motel at least takes out the garbage and gives fresh towels. As I said we have stayed here at lot in the past but with these managers in charge we will NEVER stay...

I would have given a 4-star review for Bentleigh motor inn. The room is great! Cleanliness is good, place is comfortable. In fact this is my first time giving any review at all. However, for the sake of other guests, unfortunately I have to take my precious holiday time to post this review. The service and manners from the old man working there pushed my rating down to 1-star, only kept due to the fantastic place. When I asked for extension of time for checkout as I had trouble waking up the kids, the old man rudely replied "Of course not!" and sounded really impatient. Although I don't expect or insist anything, a much better manners would be nice given we are on a holiday and hope to have a happy experience. Not asking for more isn't it? When we left the place, he was so rude too....but I will not go there to spend anymore time explaining. We had planned to return to this place for our next holiday but given our experience with this old man and a few other online bad reviews of him, we had to change our mind. If he is the owner of the place, we have to take the business to somewhere else. And if he is an employee, then he doesn't suit the hospitality industry at all! What a let down for the business to be affected by...

Avoid this place (and particularly the manager, Chris) at all costs.

We booked one night just to get some rest before we continued our road trip to Gold Coast and arrived at the motel around 9pm only to see that the reception was closed and we didn’t know how to find / access our room. We called the number provided and had the displeasure of speaking with a ‘Chris’ who was very angry in his tone. He said “obviously reception is closed” and that “he is in bed and can’t help us” and “we should read the text we received” (we didn’t receive any texts). Shocked at this encounter I said ok then you have to provide a refund. He was super dismissive and unhelpful I actually can’t believe anyone could speak that way to another individual. Thankfully a lady came out from somewhere and gave us the key.

The point is, irrespective of whether you’re at a negative-star motel or a 5-star hotel, some basic levels of hospitality should be observed. I suggest Chris pay a visit to an actual hotel (and pack a notepad with him) to learn some lessons about how to speak to guests. I hope this serves as a deterrent to anyone thinking about taking a pitt stop...
