Stopped in here for a country pub meal as the preferred pub for lunch wasn’t open.
A little dubious of the menu we ordered in any case and had beers in the main bar while our food was prepared.
The barman and the patrons were super friendly. A bit of a chat and some banter was very cool. The extra effort to find a preferred beer that wasn’t up front was appreciated.
The meals (no photos taken) were well below standard and suitably priced. Beef burger was best meal it seems. Good rating. The chicken schnitzel (large) wasn’t great. Definitely not large. Weird texture and cooked in old oil. The salad was good. The missus gave me her chips which looked fresh but again bad taste cooked in old oil. Scotch fillet steak. Medium rare. Well this was more like a well done minute steak. Don’t ask if you can’t cook. Nachos. Good quantity but burnt and ordinary tasting.
I finished my schnitty and salad. The burger was also polished off. The rest of the meals were sadly left and wasted.

I understand you didn’t know what it meant but in our home town it is quite common to call a super crisp great northern, blackfish. Pull your head in. There is no need to accuse and use words...
