On a weekly basis I treat myself to breakfast at a cafe, and have been doing so in Toronto recently as I have been working there. Like to try out different cafes, price is not an issue. Having been to Bellunos a few times I decided for a change to try Cafe 2283. I like the big breakfast, it was double the price of Bellunos, but I was not concerned as the ingredients looked awesome. So at 755 on Thursday Feb 25, I entered, checked in with QR code, was greeted by a female, 20s, black hair at the counter. I was going to order the big breakfast and a large coffee. The owner reads these reviews: around $30 value correct? This person abruptly cut me off mid sentence and told me quite bluntly that they do not start cooking breakfast till 800. I asked how long it would take and it became apparent that it would be served around 815. Nothing wrong with that. She was not interested in even taking an order in the meantime from where I was standing. So, back to Bellunos, served by 815 and coffee in the meantime. Next week I will try the place next to the Italian restaurant, and like Bellunos they serve breakfast from the time they open. Spoke to a very friendly waitperson there, quite a contrast. I normally donât leave negative reviews, as I have been in all manner of customer service my whole life and I know none of us are perfect. However this experience was akin to a slap in the face and got my day off to a bad start. What I couldnât help but notice is every other Cafe on the strip had customers except...
Read moreWent in there for a coffee with my 6 year old daughter on the 1st Jan. They were very busy so I asked how long a coffee would take. The girl serving me politely said it would be about 25 minutes. I said thank you but as I was with my young daughter we would give it a miss. As I began to leave, the girl who was making the coffees then proceeded to shout angrily at me about how busy they were. It was quite embarrassing as all the other customers stopped to look at what the fuss was about. She was clearly highly stressed and struggling with her job but there was no need to lash out and be so rude. Shall not be returning there.
To your response below - I urge you to speak to the young girl who served me and ask if I said anything rude to her. The word âdisgraceâ was certainly never said. I simply said â itâs ok thank you, donât worryâ. I was civil and polite which is why I was confused by your rant. Either you misheard something or were just looking to vent some frustration. Either way, it was highly...
Read moreWent here awhile ago and left because of the way the female manager spoke to the staff was utterly deplorable, the poor things were terrified no wonder they werenât performing to the best of there abilities gave me flashbacks to working hospitality myself it was so uncomfortable and awkward and I wish I said something to that manager, so I will now. you do not deserve the position if you lead by fear a REAL leader leads by encouragement not punishment and degradation and Iâm sorry you so are under qualified for management you canât understand that but I guess some people are made for management and youâre the type of person who isnât, hope she quits or is fired, sheâs nothing but a âpopular girlâ who never got the message high school is over and the peak of her life is done itâs all downhill from here lovely :) xx have the life...
