** Update.... This review is completely accurate. Interesting to note Casa Nova has chosen not to address any ..let alone all of the issues I've raised here. N they have definitely seen it..as they've responded to ones put on here since NYE. Perhaps when a review points out such a bad experience.. the decent thing to do would b to respond ..explain ..n own it. Pretty poor form actually!
Been here a few times. Always hit n miss 😕 Booked for NYE when we found out there were foreshore fireworks. Sorry to say wish we hadn't now. Spot was great, the restaurant itself always has nice ambience inside n out..but that's all we can say positive from our Nye experience. We had to ask for water 4 times b4 getting it. N our 1st round of drinks didn't arrive till after our entree n we were halfway through it 🙄 Food wasn't good. At all. Oysters kilpatrick is supposed to have a sauce with flavor n substance that coats. 'Sauce' was a bit of bland tasteless brown 'water' at the bottom of each shell. Garlic prawns..🙄 was terrible. Was more like a lot of tasteless prawns in a runny watery tomato puree 'soup'. Was even served with a soup spoon?! No flavor ..at all. Esp garlic. None. As for mains..most restaurants n even bistros will rightly serve a main WITH vegetables. Ppl expect that imo. Sorry..but shouldn't b a side option ppl often miss realizing r a side only. Veal came with lots of potatoes..n that was it. As for mine.. supposedly a chilli garlic prawn 🤔spaghetti in a cream sauce...terrible. No sauce or coating whatsoever. None. Just tasteless prawns on literally plain spaghetti. I could have saved myself a lot of $ by staying home, boiling plain spaghetti..dropping it in a bowl n eating it 😠 To finish the 'meal' off 😒 the waitress informed us they'd b closing the kitchen at 9 (n fair enough as it was Nye n im sure they wanted to head out after n celebrate as well) so did we want any dessert..n we would need to order now?! We said yes please..more to fill in time till the fireworks than desire 😕 We chose n waited. She didn't come back. 10-15min later we asked the male waiter who walked by could we please order our desert..n were told by him 'sorry kitchens closed but I'll go check if they can bc of what's happened ..which we'd explained. He came back n basically said nope. Tough. Too late! 😒😠 I don't usually do a long negative review like this but there was a lot wrong n we won't b bothering again. I saw a woman comment on FB that her food there that ngt was delish..we truly r wondering were we at the same restaurant?! Sorry..but wouldn't...
Read moreMy Partner and I had our Valentine's dinner here tonight.
The night started by waiting 15mins in line to be seated. Once seated, we were very happy to take our time looking over the menu and placing our order.
After ordering our drinks came out 30 minutes later with one of them being incorrect which was confirmed by our waitress. This was corrected.
After 45-60 minutes from ordering, our dinner came out with 1 of the 2 dishes brought out were incorrect. (2 pastas instead of a pasta and a pizza)
20 minutes later our waitress came to check on us in which we said we were still waiting on the pizza (after finishing the pasta) to be brought out in which was then corrected.
We were both very happy with the food and drink quality but was just a bit disappointed in the time things took and the mistakes made with drinks and the time it took before correcting the dinner.
Our waitress did a fantastic job and there was no mistake on her behalf as she correctly took our order which she confirmed and check with us.
Lining up to pay, and be seated for long periods of time was disappointing especially when the place gets crowded with people trying to pick up takeaway/Menulog orders. Maybe a better system can be brought in as with such a small tight venue it easy became crowded.
This place definitely has the potential for a 5 star review and we might need to try come back on a...
Read moreI went with 2 friends for Afternoon High Tea. We were not impressed at all. After reading great reviews we decided to give it a go, bad move. We were the only people in a large room so of course we thought we would get good service. First of all we had to wait for the coffee we ordered which came very cool. We asked for coffee in a mug rather than a glass for this reason. The goodies arrived after we had finished our cool coffee. Everything was sort of pushed onto the three tier plate. Nobody came near us to ask if we needed anything. It was supposed to be unlimited tea and coffee which we weren't offered, so when someone came into the room for something other than to see if we needed anything, we asked if we could have some tea and clean plates as the savoury food left the plates oily, not a place to sit a scone on. The scones were too large and the slices were a bit oily as well. Afternoon tea is supposed to be dainty stuff ie., finger sandwiches, small scones, small savoury and sweet tarts etc. On the whole we didn't really enjoy our High Tea and left feeling a bit disappointed. I must also say that I have been to Casa-Nova a couple of times for lunch and had a great experience, and beautiful meals but I just wanted to be honest with this review on...
