A Hidden Gem That Gets Everything Right
From the moment I walked into this charming cafe, I could tell it wasn’t your average weekend brunch spot. The warmth of the service hit me first—every single staff member had a genuine smile, greeted me with enthusiasm, and made me feel like a regular even though it was my first visit. It's rare to find a place where the hospitality feels this natural and consistent across the board.
Now, let’s talk about the food—because it truly deserves a spotlight. This isn't your basic eggs-on-toast situation. I ordered the smashed avocado on sourdough, expecting the usual fare, but what arrived was something next level. The avo was perfectly ripe and generously served, but what made it shine was the addition of beetroot hummus, crumbled feta, microgreens, and a perfectly poached egg on top. The colors popped off the plate and the flavors were balanced beautifully. Every dish I saw coming out of the kitchen looked just as thoughtfully prepared—presentation clearly matters here.
One of the things I appreciated most was the space. Unlike other cafes that cram tables together in an attempt to seat more people, this place values your comfort. Tables are well spaced out, giving you enough room to have a conversation without feeling like you're eavesdropping on your neighbor.
Price-wise, it’s more than fair. For the quality of the food—fresh, creative ingredients and clear attention to detail—the menu is very reasonably priced. You’re definitely getting value for money here.
And finally, the menu itself was a pleasant surprise. Whether you’re vegetarian, a meat-lover, or just someone who wants a hearty classic breakfast, there’s something for everyone. It’s clear the menu was designed with inclusivity in mind, without compromising on quality or taste.
In short, this cafe is doing everything right—warm service, inventive food, comfortable space, and value that actually makes sense. I’ll...
Read moreI recommend you take a double take on this cafe… went here and ordered the chilli scrambled eggs and it was the worst thing I’ve ever ordered at a cafe. I’m really not over exaggerating. The eggs weren’t even scrambled (was an over cooked omelette), the chilli was not even cut finely (just massive chops of chilli chucked in), the chilli relish tasted like generic chilli sauce from the bottle and the avocado was literally one slice chucked on the side. Overall, the eggs looked like there was absolutely no effort put into it. I’m sorry, I don’t really write reviews but this situation really made me do this.
Also, I ordered it without chorizo and they still added it in. When I told them that I swapped to salmon (as I cannot eat chorizo), she just went back into kitchen, took it off and chucked on the salmon ontop of the eggs. Didn’t ask if I was allergic/couldn’t eat etc)
I guess on the other hand, the staff...
Read moreWas quite disappointing having lunch here today with a friend i hadnt seen in a while. Besides the wonderful weather and lovely seating outside we chose to sit inside. We had the lovely window view over the street and lake. We sat down on our reserved a table. They had napkins, plates and water cups prepared so after about 20mins we realised this was counter service. No one welcomed us. No one told us to go to the counter and order. There was no water to be seen. We needed to ask. The lovely girl behind the counter was hard to hear behind the plastic barrier with the noise inside and I was disappointed in the gf and df options. I had the summer berry salad and my friend had the squid. Her squids was very over cooked and disappointing. My salad was fine but missed the avocado which was stated on the menu. Probably wont...
