I go to café inu a lot with my family and friends, and I love the food. Being half Japanese, half Chinese, it is a bit hard to choose over the different cultures when we go out, but café inu tipped the balance. A LOT. So I indulged myself multiple times, and felt guilty for not contributing to my Chinese side of my heritage. But, in the end, should I care at all anyway? Anyway, on food, there is really yummy food there. From personal experience, a cup of water with Ramune (Japanese lemonade. It's so good!!! Even if you don't really like lemonade, please try it out!!!) And either a loco moco, a Bear burger (The owner owns a lovely three-legged dog that hobbles around and sits next to you while you wait for your food) or Japanese bread (I can't remember the menu name, sorry) but basically, it's a few thick slices with a hunk of butter and honey. I know you have all had bread, butter and honey before, but the bread is so soft, thick and just so different to the bread we eat in Australia and it's magical.
Also, about dogs. 🐕 Dogs ARE ALLOWED inside. There can be max. 6-8 dogs at the same time lounging around inside. (Not including bear) maybe if you have dog allergies or are scarped of them, be wary. But y'know, if you stuck the café name in Google translate, it'll be "Café Dog" How cool is that? Also, even though Bear wears a napkin that has the words "DON'T FEED ME!!!", PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T FEED HIM! Many human foods are poisonous to dogs, so just don't.

Read moreWhat better place to go with friends, children and dogs!? Great, funky atmosphere. It's like being in a big shed with happy dogs and children, delicious food and lovely hosts. Very Japanese in all the best ways. Menu also satisfies the less adventurous:-). I absolutely love this place and the people who run it. Food is a great cross between Japanese and Australian. Coffee is good, service is excellent and it is always a very warm welcome. Nowhere else like this in Newcastle. The other day my friend had scrambled eggs, I had a prawn dog and our little friend had a hotdog. Not only was food delicious but also with quirky little Japanese aditions, such as frozen jelly desserts on our little friends plate. Ninja the dog, had a puppuccino and it was so beautiful! But I didn't even get a photo because he was so busy drinking it and licking the...
Read moreI have been visiting INU cafe since they opened their doors so many years ago. I can only say that I feel extremely welcome in this beautiful restraunt no matter how busy the owner and staff are. I love the chocolatey flavour of the coffee beans grounded just prior to your cup of severed. The food is so perfectly presented, astronomical flavours and a huge.choice of dishes available. I loved bear the beautiful 3 legged dog who use to greet me and take my attention to rub his tummy before I was aloud to move forward and order my coffee. The staff service is prompt, proffessional and just gental and refreshing, it's impossible to to give a negative review even when they are inundated with dozens of patrons. I LOVE THE INU CAFE AND VISIT WHEN EVER I POSSIBLY CAN, Thank you Miwa you are truly a gift to Newcastle and its friendly...
