Well, where do I start, I have had three visits to Cafe Macquarie, and they still seem to disappoint with food, service, and atmosphere. Not just today but on all three occasions (trying to give the benefit of the dobt). However, the coffee & milk were burnt. I found the three staff, (only Liz gave her name) a young male (said "I have been here 2yrs" ) and a blonde female who sighed and got flustered when we requested a simple bacon & egg roll. All this aside, I was still prepared to sit and eat even though the cafe obviously had exhaust fan issues due to the smokiness not just in the kitchen but where customers sat. Albeit when they became rude, disrespectful, and argumentative, I paid for my discussing coffee and walked out. I my employees were like this they would be retrained in customer service, and if continued the same way, employment would be terminated. No business, especially hospitality, can afford to have disrespectful, rude, and condescending employees. SORRY CAFE MACQUARIE SO WANTED TO GIVE YOU A GOOD REVIEW BUT NOT THIS TIME. it may be a while before...

To start out coffees were exceptional, my partner had a balanced and rich cold brew with oat milk which was strong but not over powering.
I had a Nitro Cold Brew which was delicious.
Later we had the plant-based pancakes with vegan icecream fruit and maple. Wow it was exceptional. This is a Vegan optional dish.
We also had a bowl of Acai. Which tasted delicious and was beautifully presented, however there were large chunks of ice and the consistency was more like a soup.
Frozen banana might be a great substitute to the ice and contribute to that expected thick soft serve consistency. ? The flavour and garnish was on point however so still great.
My mango smoothie was dairy free and amazing, and the freshly pressed apple juice was also yummy.
Our servers were polite and even though couldn't answer some of my questions were happy to ask the chef and give me my answer straight...
Read moreThis cafe has completely gone down hill under the new management. It's like walking into utter chaos. Everyone looks busy doing nothing. After sitting and waiting approximately 12 minutes someone took my order for a coffee. It took another 15 minutes before I was given my Luke warm coffee by a rude waitress. There was a loud boisterous woman bellowing to the customers and staff. The decor is just awful and looks dirty. The menu is just ridiculous. This used to be a bustling hive in Belmont. It was the best place for brunch, a coffee, lunch The staff were amazing and Pete kept a very happy crew. The new owners are rude and very non inviting. Really disappointed that Cafe Macquarie has gone this way. We've have tried to support but will...
