Salina Restaurant in Belmont is a fantastic dining destination, offering a great vibe with friendly and attentive staff who are helpful with recommendations. The outdoor seating area is wonderful, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere for a relaxed meal. A standout feature is their flexible pizza size options (entrée vs. main), allowing diners to share multiple dishes and enjoy a wider variety of flavors. The restaurant is also accessible for wheelchairs and prams, making it a welcoming spot for everyone.
We began our meal with the entrĂ©e-sized potato pizza, a recommendation from the staff, and it did not disappoint â perfectly crisp with a delightful flavor. The special starter of stuffed figs with goat cheese and prosciutto was absolutely excellent and a highlight of our meal.
For mains, my wife and I shared the Spaghetti Carbonara, which was creamy, slightly al dente, and wonderfully balanced in taste. Dessert was another memorable part of the experience. I had the classic Cannoli, which was delicious, while my wife ordered the dessert special: fresh figs with butterscotch sauce, vanilla bean gelato, almond biscotti praline, and blueberries. Even as someone who isnât a sweet tooth, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and we ended up sharing both desserts.
The overall dining experience was exceptional, enhanced by the knowledge that the fresh figs used in their dishes are homegrown by the family running the restaurant. A big compliment to the entire team for creating such a memorable evening. Wish I could recall the name of the wine I had â it paired perfectly!
Thank you for the wonderful experience,...
Read moreFirst and last time getting "italian" food from here. We are only visiting but disappointed is an under statement.
Absolutely shocked to pay $23 for an ENTREE sized pizza and it was smaller than we could have imagined!
The gnocchi was basically falling apart from being overcooked and swimming in way too much sauce.. Also, it's like they forgot kids have taste buds too as the kids spaghetti just tasted like watered down sauce :( And lastly with the food, the pizza that seemed to be made for ants was soggy and the dough not cooked through.
Really disgusted we were charged $5 for a CAN of coke and $5 for a small takeaway cup of lemon and lime bitters from a bigger bottle....
We are trying to be respectful but also know constructive criticism is needed in this instance. Overcharged, undercooked, overall unpleasant...
Read moreThe food here was delicious. Couldn't really fault it. Nice building high ceilings and a good outdoor area out the back. But.....there was a really tense feeling amongst the staff. The manager (or owner) did try hard to be entertaining and did his best to take care of our needs but everyone seemed to be walking on eggshells. It's hard to pinpoint what it was but it made me feel that we had to leave as soon as we put our forks down. Again I'll say, the food really was good. Well prepared and presented, cooked perfectly. (except the crispy crackling part of the pork belly dish which seems to be a commercially bought type. It just wasn't good). I would have scored it higher but I just couldn't relax.
I'll go again next time I am there and see if it's different. Sorry no photo's because I just...
