Lakshmi Indian Takeaway and Kebabs — Local services in Newcastle-Maitland

This place used to be really good. But my experiences recently have been terrible. Today as soon as we pulled up right infront of the shop, the man working nearly shut the door on my partner and I before we even got out of the car. And they seemed to not have had customers for hours. The food in the hotbar was old and crusted. And the kebab meat was cold and so was the whole kebab. It was prepared horribly and wrapped in a way that as soon as i opened it, it all fell apart. The only good thing about this visit was the samosas and spring rolls that were sitting in the hotbar for who knows how long. The time before this, my partner was standing at the door waiting for them to open up and the owners stood behind the counter and stared at him until he left. This is horrible service and I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. Drive the extra to Charlestown or even Lake Munmorah before I ever...

Two Star review because I'm feeling generous. Kebab is supposed to be hot. It was cold. Even the grated cheese (which has no place in a kebab) was still powdery rather than melted. Why put cheese in it if it never gets to the temperature to melt? Just awful. You've got a grill right there, use it. It needs 5 minutes to heat the thing through.
