Cafe Pippi — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

So glad I persisted and found this place (excellent review on google maps so I walked there, but stupidly didn’t see the cafe sign on the window and not sure what I was looking for: google maps had me searching the other side of the street around the park for 2 blocks! Even some store owners there didn’t know where it was (you could take them some ‘advertising coffee and food’ at the surf shop haha!). But walking back the other way I could see it near the ANZ and the digital library. Yay - so worth it! As everyone says, friendly and fast service, fresh homemade food (yummy lemon macaroon slice, not super-sweet), and newspapers to read, showing that you’re welcome to sit a while. Really great food for a reasonable price, great selection, warm and friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere both dining inside or outside. I ordered a chicken and gravy roll, and I went back in to ask if they can add some cheese and salad on my roll and I offered to pay extra but the guy said it's alright.
