Lake Macquarie Yacht Club — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

I have been here many times and thoroughly enjoyed it, I came again last night with family and we all loved the newish renovations, the place looks lovely. The issues here really came with the menu.

It was a little pricey, average cost of a meal was between $26-$32+...okay well surely it must taste good? Not really, unfortunately one of our party members couldn't eat anything as there wasn't anything vegan, we asked if some of the salads could be done minus the cheese and were told no - okay sure. She was fine just eating some bread but it was just a little dampener on a disappointing meal.

We all order and are told there's a $20 special on the chicken schnitzel, great! A few of us order that. Somehow none of the staff told us that if you get the $20 special instead of the normal one listed on the menu (I think $26?), you miss out on a salad. So when we asked 'where is the salad?' our waitress explained this to us as if we were thick and we just had our lackluster schnitzel and chips. Eventually the birthday girl complained and was comped with an $100 voucher (

Arrived at the place driving up from Sydney looking for sumthing to eat the venue was beautiful and clean , staff were helpful and the drinks were nice.

That's all the good I can say about this place, when we arrive we were hungry, very hungry so naturally went straight up to the counter to see wat they had and asked when they opened, told 11am at first and we thought ok we can wait. Then came 11 started having a look at the menu ,then told by another staff the kitchen dosent start cooking till 11:30. By this stage I'm very annoyed if we knew we had to wait 50 minutes just to oder our food we would have gone else where, so agien we waited oder our food ( garlic bread, salt and pepper squid , chicken parmigiana and veal with mash) Wich came to $90 and honestly wasn't satisfied, besides the fact the we had to wait another 30 mins for the food to come out and to be told the "veal" dish didn't have the full ingredients ready so had to wait longer, the food that did come out was a sad salad with 2 slices of tomato, 1 slice of cucumber, the squid was a tiny portion and the veal that we paid the most for had 3 thin slices of actual meat with plain old mash and veggies

In summary over price, not very professional and you basically paying for the view...

Booked My 60th Birthday Dinner at the Lake Macquarie Yacht Club tonight with family and friends. The atmosphere was amazing, and the sunset views out on the back deck were stunning . The food was superb, full of flavour, and generous serving sizes . All my guests complimented their meals. Their service was outstanding, from ordering a drink at the bar to all the wait staff delivering our orders with a smile and in a timely manner ,Considering they were extremely busy the meals came promptly and all staff were happy , courteous , efficient & very friendly ,Everything we asked for was provided , The manager was professional and such a beautiful lady who took such great care of her customers & it showed in her attention to detail & friendly interactions , She also had a Great sense of humor & worked very hard to make sure myself and my guests were attended to ,I have never been here before & will be a returning Customer ,Thank you to all the Staff tonight ,You made my Birthday one to remember ,Its a 10/10 from me , Your team is brilliant & You are an absolute credit to Your Beautiful Yacht Club Much...
