Mizumi Newlambton — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

I would say this hole-in-a-corner joint FAR exceeds the overpriced salty question mark that is Nagisa in Newcastle's two authentic Japanese restaurants. Fairly priced and beautifully presented fresh food. Had the salmon sashimi Bento that was generously portioned. Nigiri with just the right protein to rice ratio that makes their Japanese sushi master ancestors proud. The only downside is that this is open at odd hours 0900-1500 which makes you question who eats sushi, ramen and bentos so early... they are really missing out on the dinner demand that Nagisa...

Staff was friendly and clean. To be honest, I was disappointed with the quality of row tuna as they had particular smell and not as fresh as it should be.

The sushi rolls I had at Mizumi in Toronto were huge in size and very fresh, and I was completely amazed and satisfied. However, the ones I had here in NewLambton were unbelievably small and very crumbly as they broke apart when I picked up the rolls.

We come here all the time for a yummy easy weeknight dinner. Very friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. Tonight we stopped by for dinner, and when we were finished, we asked what time they closed, and discovered they were actually closed before we arrived! They were so lovely they made us dinner and we had no idea they were staying back for us. Excellent service,...
