Possibly the worst Mexican food and margaritas I've ever consumed. Ordered a combo plate, and the only way I could tell the different between my seafood enchilada and veg quesadilla was the vague, barely discernable generally fishy flavour of the enchilada. Whilst I am sure that the unstated "seafood" was just seafood extender, I couldn't tell for sure - because despite specifically trying to see the fillings, all I saw was tortilla and maybe a single bean. My partner ordered beef tacos, which came in some straight out of the bag tortillas and seemed like they'd just thrown some corned beef into a crockpot (sans any spices) and called it a day. No hot sauce provided, but they did dollop on some (ranchero?) sauce on every different item - which made everything taste largely the same. The margaritas are $15 each and absolute trash. Couldn't taste any alcohol in any of our margs (ordered a classic shaken, frozen watermelon and a frozen mango) - which is odd since we saw the tequila being used is a cheap one that would have been almost overpowering in a properly made margarita - makes me wonder if they water it down. The frozen margs are made in a blender with ice, so obviously incredibly diluted. Also served with a sugared rim (after specifying salted - which shouldn't HAVE to be specified for a margarita) - had to request my margarita to be moved to a glass with a salted rim, where the bartender proceeded to grind a dry cocktail glass into a mostly empty container of table salt. This was after waiting quite a while to have our order taken, waiting longer to take two of the margs to be served, and the third taking so long that I went up to the bar to pick it up myself. Perhaps the most embarrassing thing served was the classic margarita. Bizarrely served with ice cubes in a coupe glass, garnished with lemon and barely any salt, this diluted glass of swill tasted so wrong that we checked the drinks list again to see what was listed in the ingredients. Was surprised that the "classic" margarita was made on lemon juice instead of lime?? Really gobsmacked that a Mexican restaurant can't make a decent classic margarita. Mr Constistent makes a better margarita than this long-standing Mexican restaurant - make it make sense! After discussing with my partner, we came to the epiphany that we don't think that Muchos stocks fresh limes AT ALL - presumably for the cost? None of the menu items seemed to contain lime - to the point that Pico de Gallo was listed as "coriander, onion and tomato" - absent of lime. To top it off, at the end of the meal I was shocked that our bill for 3 people came to $160. I would be happy to pay this (and more) if the food was actually good, but there was such a misalignment in food quality and cost that my table continued to discuss outside and break down the cost of each item. Worked out that we had been overcharged $25, so went back to the restaurant where we worked out that we had been charged for a carafe of margarita instead of a single glass. Refund was given in cash (despite having paid on card). Ultimately, the food and drink produced by Muchos is what you would expect from a 15 year old home economics student trying to make an impressive meal. It was canteen food, so flavourless that a 4 year old would probably love it. It was the kind of bad that wasn't even worth complaining about - because this is just how they do things. An absolute abomination and Muchos should be ashamed to take customers money for their garbage product. The juxtaposition between Muchos and Antojitos, at the same price point and in the same area, is mind boggling. Don't waste your time here. Go to Antojitos, GYG, Zambrero, get some pub menu tacos. Or even just get an Old El Paso burrito kit. Any of it would be leagues better than Muchos. Decor was...

Read moreI'd spied @Muchos_Mexican and decided to visit for dinner. The combinations are a great way to get variety so I got the following: Chicken taquito, Beef and Cheese Enchilada, Bean and Cheese Taco, served with rice
The taco lacks seasoning which would enhance the lovely crunchy taco with a tasty black bean paste like filling. Of course melted cheese makes anything taste that much better. The chicken taquito was crunchy on the outside with tender chicken on the inside. The touch of sour cream and tomato sauce livens up the dish. My favourite was the enchilada. Soft tortilla, delicious beef filling with lots of gooey melted cheese. Yum!
I was also served complimentary crispy corn chips with a lovely salsa.
I didn't realise they offer desserts too. Hard to say no! Chocolate enchilada wrapped ice cream with butterscotch.
As described, would be good if the tortilla were a little softer but once you cut through, get some ice cream and the chocolate and butterscotch sauce, it's quite an enjoyable dish, one that kind of brings out the kid in you!
The interior is dimly lit, fine for the atmosphere, difficult to snap photos.
