The best recommendation in a while.
After recently receiving the "Sapori at Tailor's" tip off, I was not disappointed. The restaurant was small, homey and welcoming. With the bifold doors open, the atmosphere was excellent. Fronting onto Beaumont Street just beyond the railway crossing and Hamilton station.
Their vegan options were inclusive and wholesome.
The simple slow cooked tomato sugo, on my penne was absolutely to die for. Delicious and hearty and perfectly al dente. This had nothing removed and was already vegan.
Next up the Ortolana pizza with vegan mozzarella. Goodness this looked fantastic and dangerously enticing, especially considering I had planned on taking half home for lunch tomorrow.
Bloody hell, that is one of the best pizzas I've ever had, vegan or not, wow. It was loaded with toppings, the vegan mozzarella was soft and gooey, with olives, zucchini, peppers, eggplant, artichoke, red onion. The base was very thin and soft which was delicious if you're happy to either mess your shirt or eat with a knife and fork. 🤷 This combined with the taste make it very difficult to save any or share, it was far too good for that kind of nonsense.
All in all, the food at Sapori at Tailor's was incredible and the vegan options were some of the best I've had anywhere, especially Newcastle.
I'm very grateful for...
Read moreFabrizio and Francesca's Sapori at Tailors is an outstanding example of the true meaning of authentic Italian cucina. Flavour, flavour and flavour . Their passion and skills are translated into all that you find at Sapori. We attended a degustation last night that was exceptional with 12 plus dishes (I lost count) created by Valeria. One of the best degustations I have ever tasted. This restaurant is a rare find and an experience not to be missed. They also know how to make real pizza! A small cosy place that has the charm, warmth and joy reminiscent of sitting in a piazza somewhere in Italy sharing an amazing meal and a bottle of Chianti with family and friends. Thank you to the team at Sapori, it was worth the drive from Sydney to sit at your table....
Read moreMy friend has picked this restaurant because of the high rating it has. Most of the seating are outside and are comfortable, and the staff are friendly. The menu has quite a few pizza options that are not commonly seen in other pizza restaurants, and the pizzas only come in one size which is a good size for someone who is not a big eater. They have a lovely variety of desserts on display as well. Overall the food tastes good, however, it is a bit pricey for what is being served considering things like the portion, quality and setting. The price for the desserts are not displayed, and my bad for not asking about how much they are but they are a little outrageous when I got the bill. The dining experience was ok, it is just missing something to lure me...
