Me and the gurls (šŸ’…absolute qweensšŸ’…) went to this place and it was quite problematic. First of all, my friend who is non-human shaped head bumped into the door frame because they were ableist and didn't account for people with extremely elongated heads visiting their venue. Secondly, there was not enough POC (people of colour) inside the building and there was a lot of white people which made me and my friends feel uncomfortable. Please put more effort into making the space a more inviting venue for the marginalised communities. Third, they did not have any vegan free-range IPA offers which made my hecking valid and beautiful trans friend feel very underrepresented. Btw she is a heckin valid women so don't even try to go there. Last of all, I was happy at the amount of allies there who all were sporting their favourite rainbow hair colours and their was a lot of body positivity shown in the venue as I would say 1/2 of the people who were plus sized. That is so awesome, but we struggled to move around with the minimal room left after the 20 people at the bar blocked the entire venue. Could you please update your venue to make it more easy for us plus sized qweens to move about. Thanks.

The service staff were polite and attentive but the food was very average. Got a fish and chips (fish cooked to a crisp, dry and tough) and chicken burger (dry chicken breast). The worse part was though, looking up at the wall halfway through the meal and noticing about 20 cockroaches crawling on the wall over the Ten Commandments mural. Some were also on our table. I have never had to swat away cockroaches while eating, and never hope to have to again. Management definitely need to sort this out. Cockroaches in photo on coaster.

Best live music venue ever! Thank you to The Hamo for providing a fabulous and safe space for shows. Staff are friendly from the security at the front, the sound and light people, to the bar and hospitality employees . Beer is cold and food is fab with lots of vegan options. There’s a massive beer garden as well where one can relax and absorb the atmosphere. Thank you to the team at The Hamo! We will continue to support you. Kind regards

The manager Karen is likely the most unprofessional and most horribly behaved person I have ever seen with a job. I have witnessed her go off at people for almost no reason, kick people out for almost no reason as well as humiliate people in front of their friends like it's her favourite hobby. The Hamilton station used to be a relatively inclusive place. I'm scared to bring my friends there anymore in case Karen does something with her appalling behaviour. She barely serves anyone and stays on her phone, only seems to walk into the smoking area to be rude to people or spit hurtful words. Wears a constant scowl and looks at you like you've insulted her family, she makes you so uncomfortable I have waited for other bar staff to serve me because she is snappy and just slams it down. The rest of the staff are amazing and so damn lovely but damn it's hard to want to step in there with her around. I understand having a bad day and not dealing well, but she has been like this for the entire year. I know this is a bit of a rant but honesty it's a shame to see...

Get this, so I rock up for a Sunday show advertised on the website as "7pm doors". Turns out after paying I missed the opener who apparently went on stage at 6:30. Then, a few hours later I go to order at the "food truck", advertised on the website as closing at "10:00PM" on Sundays, only to find its closing time is actually 9 p.m. Management: get it together!

Edit: Management (eventually) got it together.

Edit2: Whelp, the "Gig Guide" was very briefly an Oztix embed, but now it's back to a separate hand-crafted listing (more opportunities for errors and inconsistencies) -- it actually again contains typoed dates at the present moment... At least the food...
