Kyono Sushi — Restaurant in Newtown

I had an errand to run at Clifford Gardens today so decided to try somewhere at the food court for lunch. Not normally my scene.

Polite, fast service. No issues here! I chose the spicy karaage. Comparing this against my regular local purveyor of fried chicken this place didn't hit the mark.

The "spicy" chicken had no heat whatsoever. I want "spicy" to hurt today AND tomorrow. I'm kind of twisted like that. Doughy and chewy pieces of chicken - perplexing given that the cut was thigh - this is a very difficult cut of chicken to screw up. Rice was also significantly overcooked - something that's also difficult to do with a rice cooker that I assume this outlet uses.

Sore Stomach within 10min after eating their "Spicy Karaage Chicken" not even spicy and ol mate reckons the spice in their foods been reduced for the "Westerners, so it's not too spicy" 🤣🤣 too funny.. but not happy at all, Over priced Food for Under priced Taste. Thanks for the Runs...
