Skipped breakfast and lunch and decided I would treat myself to an early dinner. Dined in at Tokyo Train Clifford Gardens Toowoomba on the 4th of March 2021. I had some plates off of the train (chicken avocado and tuna and avocado).
The chicken and avocado was as expected however the tuna and avocado one seemed to have a different kind of flavor to it that I wasn't used to so I added mayonnaise to mask the flavor. Fast forward to 3am 5th of March 2021. Spewing my guts up. Intestinal bloating and obscene amounts of watery stools on-going for 72 hours afterwards...
Finally felt good enough to make a call to the restaurant advising of my food borne illness. Asked for the manager (was told I was speaking to the manager). Seemed sympathetic at first but continued to deflect all questions and later stated I will chat with my boss... one second (boss was there the whole time) and by the end of the call they weren't interested in pursuing it further. Will be in contact with Food Safety QLD and local council to pursue this matter further.
Avoid....
Read moreNormally, I would rate 5 stars, this review is a reflection to the rude service today, Any other day there is a young girl there who is rushing around and serving an smiling an is absolutely fantastic, however today, while at Tokyo Train, the service was depressing. No smile. No welcome, took forever to get service and have our food bought out, there was hardly anything to choose from on the train, When we ordered Dessert, the lady pulled trio mousse from the freezer and placed it in the microwave, then bringing it to our table, It tasted like wet cardboard. Did not eat it. After calling for the bill which took a further 10 minutes. I politely tried to talk to her about the dessert however she rudely ignored me, once at the counter i handed over my "Rewards stamp card" she did not stamp it, however offered a free plate when i mentioned i was saving them she handed it back with no extra stamp, I took my opportunity then to bring up my dissatisfaction with the Dessert only to be told "Oh sorry, ill tell my chef"...
Read moreThis rating is for AFTER 7PM SERVICE. Normally this place is amazing but Thursday night I entered just before 7.30pm when closing was 8pm as I needed quick dinner. Three staff members completely ignored me and just walked around me. Finally I had to stop someone and asked if I could still sit down. To be rudely told yes but only what was left on the train was available. As place was still half full of customers there was enough on train to suit me, I sat and grabbing first plate I realised the ordering tablet at table was turned off which was fair but I refuse to call out like the other person that came in after me had to do to get can of softdrink. I had three plates and had paid by 7.47pm. They need to be grateful to quickly sell more off the train than it going to waste. I love the train for quick meals and understand wanting to close on time posted but when the only pleasantness I got from staff was when I was leaving made the dining...
