The Coffee Club Café — Restaurant in Northern Territory

I'm beyond INFURIATED! Around 10:00-11:00 AM (15/09/2022) I came in the Palmerston NT, Gateway Coffee Club to dine.

The server told me that she messed up my order and gave me $4.30 extra so I assumed that she charged me extra. I waited for my order for 15-20 minutes until one of the waitresses gave me my separate online order.

I told her that I was still waiting for the meal I ordered at the counter, not too long after, the "manager" (NOT THE ONE THAT SERVED ME) came up to me.

The conversation went like: Manager: I thought the $4.30 was a refund to your meal? Me: No, I assumed that that was because she charged me extra. Manager: So, you just took the money without even knowing why??

Is this the service I'm supposed to be getting? Despite the time I spent waiting for my food???

That woman WAS NOT even apologetic!

She embarrassed me in front of everyone OVER A $4.30 mistake that was MISCOMMUNICATION ON THEIR END!

Right after I told her that it was coffee club's responsibility to explain to me what had happened, she went ahead telling me that it was NOT hers because she did not serve me; BUT SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO SPEAK TO ME THAT WAY.

It was so DISAPPOINTING! I came in hoping to have a great start of my day, being lovely to the staff, only to end up being misspoken...

Lucky to get one star. System won't let me rate my experience a zero, a rating that is more appropriate to my ex perience. Ordered a couple of drinks and a couple of breakfast dishes. Took my table and waited 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. So far so good. Another 10 minutes go by and finally manage to get a waiter to clear the rubbish of our table. Still waiting for our food. After another 5 to 10 minutes I'm starting to get impatient especially after seeing other customers being served who arrived long after us. So I approached the counter to inquire about our food to be told it would take another 5 minutes. 15 minutes later I'm still waiting on our food so again I inquire at the counter only to be told they know nothing about the order and would start making it immediately. Bear in mind I've been waiting the better part of an hour by this stage. I cancelled the order and demanded a refund. Will never...

So inefficient.

Order food and drink for 1 person. When the food comes out, no utensils so you have to wait anywhere from a minute to five for the staff to come back with utensils (easier to have ready and bring with them if only one meal, or when you are seated). Only one coffee machine and one barrista, so there's a backlog of drinks being made so that comes after your meal not before.

Unfortunately, coffee drink is on the bitter side and not enough syrup to counteract the bitterness. When advised that I couldn't taste the flavour of the syrup the "barrista" stated loudly enough for me to hear that she DID put in the syrup but she'll add more but next time I would need to request an extra shot of syrup at an extra cost.

Last time visiting somewhere that should be taking pride in the main product in their name.

Spend too much money for poor quality product and average service...
