I admit: I loved the previous venue "The Oaks Grill on Piper" and knew it closed. Driving past, I spotted the signage for "Prato", looked them up, and was excited - we booked. Service on arrival was brilliant. The layout change is well done. Meeting friends here, we didn't understand some menu items, so ordered a "bit of everything" to give it a go! Everything was so amazing, we did it again with some repeats and new tries! Had some drinks, could easily talk with the fair volume, and the interior still feels great with natural light and soft feel as the sun went to bed. We met plenty of the crew and everyone was so good to us. The food is sensational and it's a great change for the street and town to offer delicious meals that to me don't clash with others here. The end of the night, the bill was suprisingly great once we considered the drink and meals amoungst 4 people with shared plates. Only downer is - I live too far away to be back soon, but will be! Be like us and give this place a try with good hunger and open mind for incredible flavours. Thank you to all Prato staff for making a great night take...
Read morePrato is definitely worth a visit..The decor is pleasant the staff are lovely and the food is wonderful. For drinks, I ordered a dirty Martini which was perfect, wouldnt change a thing. The cabbage rolls propelled me back into my childhood, in my grandmas kitchen. No doubt this is a traditional family recipe that remains unchanged and it's lovely to see it on the menu. It was my favourite dish. The apple/ rocket walnut salad was so tasty, with a beautiful dressing that was full of flavor. I also ordered the pork and fennel pizza. I usually like my Pizzas thin but im completely on board with this crust. Great texture, crispy and topped with good quality ingredients. Couldn't get enough. For dessert try the Greek custard. I love the use of citrus in the syrup I thought it was just beautiful. Will definitely come back next time we visit...
Read moreAll the way from California and found this amazing restaurant, Prato, in Kyneton. Our group was warmly welcomed and we sat down to a feast. The espresso martinis were excellent and a great start to the epic experience! The bruschetta was delicious and the Roman-style Pinsa pizzas were on another level! Our group had 1 of each and they were truly exceptional! Light, crisp and fluffy crust, top quality ingredients and wood-fired to perfection! An artisanal delight!! We finished our meal with tiramisu and lattes which were very smooth and served at the perfect temperature. 5 stars all...
