Tonight my partner ordered dinner from the restaurant and when he arrived to pick up our meal and pay for the order, he was asked if he had a mask. Fair question, however, when my partner informed them that he had a mask exemption, he was inturn, very aggressively, with a false sense of authority asked to see the exemption by one of the 2 pelicans who were attempting to intimidate my partner.
My partner obliged, however informed the two men, who think they're police officers, that he is WELL within his rights to keep his medical issues private. Obviously these two guys have never heard of Doctor, client confidentiality.
The 2 pelicans then proceeded to then try to force my partner to wait outside, like a dog, because he physically cannot wear a mask without getting sick.
First of all, if masks work the way everybody says they do, then these two pelicans couldn't possibly contract COVID from my partner, considering them, themselves are protected, right? So what are they so concerned about?
Secondly, if the exemption wasn't even, according to them, a valid form, then why did these two pelicans even bother to ask to see it in the first place?
Thirdly, these men work at a PUB. Like, calm down.... They're not Police men. I'm sure the $15 an hour they earn doesn't authorise them to act like FBI agents.
Fourthly, my partner and I have supported this business for YEARS. We have quite possibly put thousands and thousands of dollars in this businesses back pocket. Also considering we are in lockdown and privately owned businesses are currently seriously struggling, they should be extremely grateful that we are even supporting them and attempted intimidation, unwarranted discrimination and abuse is how we are thanked.
Lastly, there's really nothing nice to say about the customer service here anyway. Most of the staff are rude and roll their eyes when asked for simple things. Meals are usually incorrect, because the wait staff cannot comprehend simple orders and I've been told by more than one former employee that the working conditions were horrible and were treated like dogs.
Our food was cold and disgusting and wasn't even worth the money or the uncomfortable situation that transpired anyway.
My partner and I will never be dining here ever again. Which is a massive loss to this business, considering we have consistently dined with this business for years, sometimes 3 times a week. We will also be letting everyone we know what happened tonight and will be encouraging everyone we know to no longer dine or drink here and we'll be successful with that.
I'm beyond disgusted by how my hard working, genuine and generous partner was treated tonight and I won't be quiet about it.
I'm sure the two guy's egos will be terribly hurt by this review, but I'm tired of being discriminated and abused by people trying to take advantage of an opportunity to act tough. It's wrong and these people need to educate their low IQ minds and read the Constitution that states you cannot legally refuse customers due to a medical condition.

Read moreI booked the upstairs function room for my birthday. To not only be disappointed that they had double booked the room. I only found out they had double booked the room because a local sporting club had put on their facebook that they were hosting a function there on that date!!!! It took 2 weeks for them to actually send through the function booklet also.
When I approached them about this booking they said they would make some calls and a day later finally got back to me and said they couldn't do anything other then offer me a function room at bommo. I went to check out this so called "function room" and it's not even a private function room it's disgusting with the roof leaking and dirty.
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Absolutely disgusted in the service and organisation of the management team. and now I am stuck finding a new venue a month out and having to foot the cost of new invitations to be made and sent.
They say to support local businesses and thats what I have done only to be let down....
Read moreI looked up the menu online as we were traveling on Boxing Day and I’m gluten free. It was OK and when we turned up it was even better than online, bigger variety including GF options. I wanted some chilli loaded chips but with sweet potato, shown same price as potato chips. That was a big favor already but with extra $2 I got them. Wanted to add some prawn and scallops shown as extras to steak but couldn’t get those on their own, even though I would pay the same. So I asked for some buffalo wings but could not get the 6 buffalo wings with any sauce only the ranch. Got my chips with some chipotle sauce, but they were soggy, while my partner’s regular chips were beautifully crisp. Still hungry asked him to get me the wings anyway, and the waitress offered him any sauce he wanted and any number, as they were available for $1 per wing. So I got some wings with spicy sauce and they were nice, but this experience could have been SOOO much more pleasant if the staff showed some...
