Tento Sushi Ramen — Restaurant in Nowra

I visited this restaurant today with my Japanese friend, and while a few of the dishes were enjoyable, we were ultimately disappointed — especially considering the high ratings this place has received.

We both work in a Japanese restaurant and are very familiar with the preparation of sushi rice and rolls. Unfortunately, the sushi roll we ordered fell far below expectations. The rice was extremely overcooked — far too much water had been used, leaving it mushy and squishy. When we raised this with the staff, they explained it was due to vinegar, but from our experience, it was clearly a case of improper rice preparation.

We were given a replacement roll, which looked better visually, but the rice still had the same textural issue. At $22 for a single roll, this was very disappointing.

With such a high rating, we expected much better quality and attention to detail, especially with something as central to Japanese cuisine as sushi rice. While some of the other dishes were tasty, the quality of the sushi roll did not reflect the standard we hoped for.

I wouldn’t recommend the sushi rolls here, particularly for those who are familiar with authentic...

I think this place has more potential, the food looks great... but I came for lunch and ordered the spicy pork kimchi ramen sat down and waited. And waited and waited. 40 mins later my lunch break was over so I asked if I could get it to go. 10 mins later it was ready. Had to run back to work. Opened it up and I had the wrong order, soy chicken...

I ordered the soy sauce based soup with the kimchi + pork topping and it was SO delicious. The customer service is great and reasonable price for great quality food. Definitely if you’re stopping through in nowra or looking somewhere for lunch i’d highly recommend stopping by here for...
