Read moreOne of my all-time favorite takeaway dinners! 🍲🔥
Gong Thai has easily become my go-to spot when I crave something comforting, hot, and absolutely satisfying after a long day. I live nearby, so it’s dangerously convenient 😂 but in the best way possible.
I usually order their Hot Tom Yum Goong with Rice — and let me tell you, it never disappoints. For just $18, you get a generous portion of piping hot tom yum packed with juicy prawns, mushrooms, and fresh herbs, all swimming in a rich, tangy, and lil bit spicy broth. The flavors hit just the right balance of sour, spicy, and savory. It’s that kind of classic dish that warms your soul and clears your sinuses at the same time — in the best way 😅🔥.
They always serve it fresh and hot, and even though it’s takeaway, it feels like a proper, comforting meal at home. The rice is always perfectly cooked, and they package everything neatly so nothing spills.
Staff are friendly and efficient — I usually pop in and out quickly, and my food is ready within 10–15 minutes. The service is consistently reliable and smooth.
Honestly, I’ve tried other dishes on their menu too and they’re all solid, but nothing beats this classic combo for me. It’s simple, it’s nostalgic, and it always hits the spot.
Highly recommend Gong Thai for anyone in the area looking for authentic Thai flavors that are affordable, satisfying, and super...
Read moreHmmmm. We ate here at lunch time on 20/8/24. We were a party of six ppl. We ordered chicken wings (10) x 2, satay chicken x 2, duck stir fry, Singapore noodles chicken, chicken schnitzel burger, beef massaman and pad Thai chicken. The pad Thai was just ok. The satay chicken was pretty overwhelming and obviously from a can. The Singapore noodles were just terrible. The chicken wings tasted nice but for some reason you only get half of one actual wing and no little drumstick. So we felt a little underwhelmed by that. Burger was ok but nothing special. The duck was quite nice as was the massaman. We have been here several times and I don’t know if they have a new chef but the standard really dropped. Given we were the first people in the restaurant and it wasn’t that busy, we were really dissatisfied given the food reviews and our past experiences. Would we try again?? Maybe but if it wasn’t optimal again, we would never come back again. I felt embarrassed as I talked this place up to my friends. And to have such underwhelming feedback from that was disappointing. Sorry guys but the food needs to really lift up. Service excellent as always. Atmosphere beautiful. But the food was a...
